Review: 28 Blush Palette

I was contemplating between the 28 Blush Palette and the new 20 Shade Concealer Palette on Ebay, and I decided to get the blush palette instead because I am a blush freak!

I bought it together with Chan's 88 Warm Palette (it's for her birthday! YAY) and I must say the prices are very very very reasonable.

The 88 Warm Palette was $21.90 and the 28 Blush Palette was $16.90.

The prices were really awesome considering that some blogshops sell both palettes for $32++ and $25++ respectively.

All colours are well-pigmented, but the shimmery colours are more vibrant than the matte ones. For the matte blushes, there is a tendency for them to get really chalky so using a fluffy big brush is recommended; a small tapered blush brush will only concentrate the colour in one area and because some of them are chalky, it's difficult to spread the colours out to the entire cheek area.

Four kinds of finishes: matte, shimmer, satin and glittery

My favourite colours should be:
First row: first blush
Second row: fourth blush
Third row: sixth blush
Fourth row: first blush

Some of the colours look extremely intimidating, especially the hot fluorescent pink and the maroon red. However, a little goes a long way and if you don't over-apply, the colours can still be wearable. In my case, I just dab my brush on these colours once and then dab on several of the cheek areas, and then blend blend blend. For the more vibrant colours, one dab is usually enough for one cheek, whereas for the lighter colours you can reapply to the vibrancy that you want! =)

One last comment: the glittery blushes are really freaking me out. It's like applying a blusher and then adding glitter bits to your cheeks. The glitter particles are really huge and chunky and I really don't want to look like a walking lightbulb. =/ I shall stay away from those colours. GAH.

Coding has been going on well. I am done with Aileen's first 13 DVDs and I should move on to the next 15 DVDs. There's a slight problem though, I have to finish everything by 2nd June 2010, 1pm. HOW TO FINISH! I WILL CHIONG CHIONG CHIONG!

Also, after almost a month hiatus from jogging and running (I stopped before Genting trip. aiyoyo), I finally went jogging yesterday. I met a potential flasher at a very secluded bus stop outside Bukit Batok Nature Reserve and I ran like crazy till I see a traffic light (meaning got a lot of cars, so if I get dragged down, I can struggle and run towards a car. LOL). 50 minutes of jogging later, I came back aching.

In very bad shape. I woke up this morning to an aching body. LIKE EVERYWHERE ACHING LOR. zomg. I shall go for a walk later. Same route, but walking. Perhaps brisk walking. We shall see.

I'm waiting for my mom to come back with my lunch. WHERE IS SHE!

defeat

I admit,

After years of hiatus, they are still lingering.

I feel like such a loser.

But Wangwang said that I feel this way "because I have a heart".

This is definitely not an emo post. Just that after an emotional struggle to win this battle, I must admit defeat. The defeat is even more significant because I thought triumph will be mine all along. That crashing down feeling is a little bit too much to take.

Plan for tomorrow:
  • Meet-up with ebay-er to get palettes at paya lebar (88 warm for chan and blush palette for myself!)
  • Meet chan at amk mrt and we get KOI together. (HOORAH)
  • Go to chan's house to chiong the codings.
  • Go home and chiong more codings.
Sunday is Bt Timah Hill day and more codings to be done.

28 dvds to be rushed before 2nd june. ZOMG.

WOOPIE DOOPIE DOOOO

After a month of NO SHOPPING, I am back with a vengeance.

By the way let me just start by telling you about my really freaky experience at Somerset MRT. We were walking down to the control station and there was this transsexual who suddenly stopped in his/her tracks and started saying, "I'm also a model you know? I have big thighs, so I'm a model..." All this while, I already noticed her and I already decided to walk far far far away from her. But her voice just scared me and I walked faster and faster. He/she looked like a freak. O_O The other three guys were running away as well because transsexuals usually attack guys.

I am not against transsexuals. But please lar WHY SHOUT IN PUBLIC ABOUT HOW YOU WANT TO BE A MODEL? =.=

anywayyyyyy

I met up with besties stufu and melon on Wednesday and we had an awesome meal at Holland Village. Yum yum.

Melon brought me my masks from Korea! WOOTS!

She included a whole bunch of samples as well. YAY.

Stufu let me try her extra tube of bb cream. Have yet to try though.

To mark my shopping-ban success, I shopped. HAHA. The irony of things is kind of painful.
We bought a chio present for siashangying also! YAY!

Newlook - earrings 3 for 9.90, previously 9.90 each.

Forever 21 - double-finger ring, LOVE ($5) diamonds ($6)

Cotton On - bangles $2 each, previously 4.95 each

Cotton on - Liquid leggings $5, previously 24.95 (!!!)

Cotton on - Pipe pants (that's how they call it) $10 previously 34.95 (!!!)

My calves look huge and that's because I am pressing them against my bed. LOL
(Excuses, excuses)

Cotton on - Polka dot skirt $5, previously 19.90 (!!!)

Cotton On is crazy. I am going back soon. HAHAHAHA.

I shall continue blogging soon soon soon! Gotta go find a venue for birthday celebration now! Hotel Re! sounds awesome! 398 per night, abit expensive but for 21st birthday, should be negotiable with the mother. =)

oh wow. hip hip hooray!

work briefing

I'm currently in WKWSCI Level 5's meeting room now. Waiting for Su Lin and other colleagues to arrive for work briefing.

TV Coding is not fun, but it is an OTOT kind of job and I kind stay home to complete my DVD set so I got nothing to complain.

The previous girl who dropped out clocked in 44 hours of tv coding for a week. That's like $308 earned in a week's time. Awesome or not!

The other benefit (maybe a disadvantage too) is that this job will carry on till December. Means I can earn while I'm studying during semester time.

and it's 3pm on the dot now, how come nobody is here ar?

photo post: let the pictures do the talking

It's late and I have a camp tomorrow. Let's just let the photos do their job, shall we?

Yawn

These are the photos from fun fun fun Genting trip. Ever so late but better than never!

so many things to rant about

Once again, the night proves to be the only time of the day that the brain is working in an unfathomable way. So many things to rant about, all with sufficient evidences but no actual certification of proof.

Rant number ONE

It's bewildering on how one can be growing up but getting more tardy at the same time. And I don't say solely about others, but also about moi. In university, when the meeting time is stated at 2pm, people will only come at 2.30 - 2.45pm. In the past, I will reach at 1.45pm, and now I will reach at around 2.01 - 2.02pm. Why are we getting more and more late!

Usually I will get really pissed off when people are late, but now I'm not because EVERYONE IS LATE!

Don't really know how to describe this unexplainable phenomenon. Tsk.

Rant number TWO

Have you ever thought that someone is just being nice to you for other purposes?

Lots of times I have met with situations in which people will ignore me at first, and then when they realised that I'm from Indonesia and a Chinese, they became extremely friendly. Like seriously, people are actually still driven by money to be friendly?

For one, I agree that my grandparents are rich. But no, they are not in Singapore and they don't give me a fat monthly allowance.

Also, financial situation in Singapore has gotten from bad to worse, with mom trying to handle her wreck of a job and stepdad looking like a baboon.

So if you still think I'm rich, go to India and cleanse yourself please.

Rant number THREE

I have been gymming like crazy. And the numbers on the scale are on the rise. Food intake has been reduced too. I would like to think of it as muscle weight/ PMS bloatedness, but this is worrying.

Also, I have a problem with water retention once again. I drank 2.5 bottles of water on Tuesday, and I only went to the toilet ONCE. How crazy is that? Then the water all go where? I never cry and my clothes are not soaking wet with sweat ar! ZOMG.

Rant number FOUR

Student researchers are the shit. They are FILTH! I was actually confirmed as a TV coder for a PHD student in my school. And I told her way in the beginning that I have job this whole week and so I cannot attend the briefing. So she was being really understandable and told me that maybe she could train and brief separately from the rest.

So of course I was quite elated because the pay was awesome. So I waited for her call to arrange our meeting.

Then on Tuesday night, she finally called, only to tell me that I'm no longer a TV coder. The reason that she gave me was because I couldn't attend the briefing with the rest and hence I couldn't build a rapport with them. Meaning, I may incur errors lar.

Now this is really irritating. SHE was the one who told me it's alright. SHE was the one who told me that I can meet her individually. SHE SHOULD be the one anticipating the problem and hence tell me beforehand or even better, reject me at the beginning, and not NOW when my hopes are already so high. Damn shitty. PHD student some more. HALO! This kind of problem you should be able to predict from the beginning right? Then you tell me to meet you individually etc for what? knnbccb.

So the moral of the story is I'm not pissed with not getting the job; I'm pissed at how she handled it and how she gave me such high hopes.

Perhaps reality is that harsh, but a person should NEVER give high expectations to someone and then make her fall hard on her butt after. That will do wonders to someone's self-esteem and confidence.

And now, I am going to do some research for FLIPR. (ohya, I have yet to write a post on it. Shall do one when it's ready!)

Seniors' Camp food + drinks may come under 450 bucks if all goes well! Let's hope the phone call tomorrow will be AWESOME!

decency shown

It's really quite amazing how time flies when you are lazying around. I was nua-ing every single day after the Genting trip and it's now MONDAY again.

I have work waiting for me later at 830am at Nanyang Polytechnic and I'm not sleeping yet because I foolishly chugged down a cup of coffee due to a predicted migraine. Feeling good and awake. Not a very smart choice since I have been on the net since the morning and I have been to all possible websites. Very bored now.

So I thought to myself, why not blog?

I am that desperate.

First up is an outfit of the day that I donned for Friday's FLIPR meeting. Thoughts about the magazine will be done on another post. Quite excited actually. =)

I just love this kind of look cause it slims me down. MUAHAHAHA.

My Genting haul (nope not included in shopping ban because it's out of Singapore what, muahahaha)

Elianto was the only savior for shopping at Genting. Nothing much cause it wasn't Year End Sale.

Masks - 3 for RM10 (Eve went crazy over this. The guys too. Leonard and Ron bought some too!)
Velvet eyeshadows - RM8 each.
Nailpolish - RM5 each
Makeup wipes - RM12
Eye pads - 2 for RM18 (Eve got the other one in cucumber I think)

Swatch of the eyeshadows! Gotta love the left colour. =)

These were what Chan Huiling got from Elianto. I forgot to include the masks and eyepads that she got. =X

The "eye ball ball" thingy was buy one get one free I think. So were the lipglosses.

Swatch of her "eye ball ball" thingy. Very shimmery indeed! =)

I don't think anyone should be expecting hauls because:
  1. I am on a ONE MONTH long shopping ban. Today is the 15th day. AWESOME.
  2. I need to work my ass off to get the Genting money back. LOL.
  3. In addition to 2, this means that I have to wait for the pay to come in.
  4. I have to plan for FOC. Looking at the current figures makes me hyperventilate. I really hope things will fall to place in their own accords. *crosses fingers*
But this does not stop me from planning on what I want to get when the pay is in and after the month-long ban is over!
  • DENIM SHORTS (Cotton On or New Look, Forever 21's too overpriced)
  • Flared shorts (Floral prints will be AWESOME, but I don't mind plain black)
  • New slippers (cheap ones will do, no need for havaianas because I'm over that phase)
  • funky tops from Bugis (10 bucks each ones.)
  • dresses from Bugis (10 bucks each ones.)
  • A NEW BAG (OMGOSH! this one is a MUST)
  • RINGS RINGS RINGS RINGS. =)
I guess that's all that I can remember now. Well, I can always see new things and get them, can't I?

Time to go over the proposal AGAIN.

I shall go to bibik catering and liangfood's website now. So screwed. 6K for food is no joke,

maybe i really should blog

I have no inspiration whatsoever to blog.

Really in a rut now.

Emotional roller-coaster all week long after Genting trip.

Positive thing: no shopping for 2 weeks straight. damn awesome. and I have a week-long project starting tomorrow onwards. damn damn awesome.

I expect around 300 bucks from this project. Gotta find some more of such projects for survival.

new stuffies + new hair + new thoughts.

I shall begin this post with my haul this week. I bought these items 2 weeks ago, and I kept to my promise: it has been 6 days since I bought anything unnecessary. Very proud of self.

(That's also because of sudden realisation that the money in the bank is depleting at an alarming rate...)

Floral hoodie - $6

Black cropped jacket - $2.50

Badgal lash mascara - $5

Revlon DoubleTwist Mascara - $5

This is a SHITTY mascara. =.=

Skinfood Rice + Black Sugar Mask Wash Off - 12 packets total ($8.40)

Some more edm blushes - $14 for all.

Swatches in this order (from left to right):

Lucent bronze
Homework (EXTREMELY DARK - perhaps will use this as eyeshadow instead =/)
Opening Day
Toffee

I realised all are shimmery blushers. HAHA.

I cut my hair once again. It was too long and the weather is getting really hot so I HAVE TO CUT IT! I just think it's a little bit too short. But oh well, now much cooler around the neck.

Now having really bad running nose. I feel really sick. I hope this carries on till Monday morning, so my Genting trip will be great.

Celebrated Mother's Day. A failed daughter, that's what I am. I vow to earn lots and lots of money to save my mom from the monster.

I cannot wait to go to Genting and then come back and earn money!
