Haul: New shoes from Zalora.sg and Apparels from Cotton On

I had a S$10 voucher courtesy of Zalora.sg (no minimum limit) and just nice I saw this pair of cute yellow bow flats going for S$9.90. Hence, I didn't pay for this at all! :D

Do visit zalora.sg for your fashion cravings!

The Cotton On branch at NEX was also having a storewide sale (50% off sale items, etc) and I just floated in without thinking...and I came out S$25 poorer!

The bralet was S$10 and the high-low skirt was S$10.

Cotton On sizes are really huge. I got both in Ms and the bralet was a good-fit, but the skirt was rather on the waist. Oh dear.

(How come in this photo, my head looks...bigger than usual?)

Cute bralet with fabulous details at the back. Now if only I dare to wear sleeveless apparels out of my room door. HMMM.

I just hate my muscular arms - all thanks to my genes, all the first born ladies in my maternal side have muscular arms. =___=

But yay, this is a lovely combination! :)

Also, this haul is to celebrate my 4 kg weight-loss since March 2012! HOORAH. 6kg more and I will be more than satisfied! LET'S GO!

Instagram photos (Week 21 of PI. YAY)

It has been a rather boring week. Nothing much to do at work because both my bosses are out for an off-site meeting. Wednesday - Friday 9am to 7pm. Are they freaking crazy?! The stamina these people had is admirable. They even ordered food into the meeting rooms so that they could make full use of time.

O.o

Anyway, here are photos of some Outfit of the Days (OOTDs) and random sinful food indulgences. YUMYUM.

Legendary claypot rice at Blk 44 Holland Drive. Practically no stall was open but this stall and the queue was CRAZY. I had to wait 35 minutes for my food. FREAKING WORTH THE WAIT. NOMS~

RED VELVET CAKE ICECREAM from Marble Slab Creamery. It's good for the first few bites (can really taste the cream cheese), but everything went downhill after 50% was consumed. Almost puked because of how sweet this was.

Haul: Eye-wears from Ladies Inn

I stumbled upon this blogshop from a popular blogger and she had a 10% discount code, so I decided to check the shop out, and wow! their accessories were really quite affordable!

Visit the shop here: http://www.ladiesinn.com/

I bought 2 items - two pairs of eye-wears.

The first one is the hugely popular design that was inspired by Prada.

Here's the link to the item: http://www.ladiesinn.com/2012/03/g007-550.html

They have it in 6 different colours!

I especially love the swirly details at the side, and this pair is only S$5.50!

I saw so many bloggers and xiaomeimeis wearing this next pair, and so I also very gian. :P Just trying my very hardest to be young at heart!

Hello Kitty frames! HEHEHEHEHE.

Here's the link to the product: http://www.ladiesinn.com/2012/04/g020-390.html

It's good for days when you have an all-black outfit on and you want to look like a hip nerd/hip emo nerd. It's only S$3.90. THREENINETYBUCKS ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?!

Service-wise, they were highly efficient. I sent in my order form at around 9pm, went for a run, and the invoice came in less than 2 hours later! After I transferred the amount, they mailed out the items first thing the next morning, and so I received them 2 days later (which is considerably a short period of time - singpost has been a bitch lately).

Their packaging was crazy good too. Everything was bubble-wrapped so thickly that I was quite frustrated when removing the tapes and all that jazz. Of course, this means decreasing the chances of your delicate eye-wears from breaking apart through the rough mailing process!

Do visit the blogshop if you are interested in eye-wears! They have falsies and other accessories too! :)

OOTD: Olive green and electric blue combination (New Look cardigan and tracyeinny chiffon top)

Finally worn out my ohsofickle caged sandals. The past few days were horrible in the shoes department because I had blisters at the back of both my ankles due a too-small pair of loafers.

I wanted this pair of caged sandals since ohsofickle did a preorder last year, but I thought they were too expensive for a pair of sandals. Of course, as with all blogshop items, I bought this at a huge discount. :D

I'm really loving this combination of olive green and electric blue!

Top: tracyeinny
Tanktop: Forever 21
Cardigan: New Look

Also, today marks the day of another kilogram down the drain! YIPPY YAY YAY! :D

Review: Shiseido Maquillage Lasting Powdery UV EX

A recent acquisition of mine from last week's Shiseido sale. It's definitely not something that I will buy off the counter simply because of the hefty price tag attached to it.

The Shiseido Maquillage Lasting Powdery UV EX Compact costs S$65 and the case costs S$23, so it's certainly not for those looking for affordable foundation.

I bought mine for S$30 from the Shiseido sale and I'm already quite heartbroken by the amount I spend because I usually swear by my ZA foundation which is less than S$25. However, I have to grow up sooner or later right, it is time to invest in a good foundation (albeit it being bought off a sale :P). I sound so cheapo, but aiyah, I look for bargains mar!

Especially enticed by how it claims to "combat sebum-shine"! That is certainly amazing news for people with oily skin!

Also, I appreciate the fact that they indicate whether it's suitable for all seasons/or just cold weather etc. Some foundation seems so perfect on the advertisements, but they become a hot melting mess after a few hours under our scorching sun, coupled with the unforgiving humidity.

So this foundation is claimed to suit our crazy wonky weather! YAY!

You can also use the foundation dry or wet. Personally, I prefer to use it dry because I don't like to wet the compact and the sponge (hygiene issues), however, if you want extra coverage, using it wet can help!

These are the array of foundation colours available on sale. As always with Japanese products, colours are catered more to the fairer women, simply because the majority of Japanese women are either really fair, or obsessed with being fair (maybe all Asian ladies? haha I'm rather obsessed with getting fairer myself too).

Picture from: http://www.maquillage.shiseido.com/sg/allitems/base/foundation/item072.html

I bought mine in OC10, a tad lighter than my normal colour, but it's okay since I'M GOING TO BE FAIRER (YES I WILL, I AM DETERMINED TO BE!!).

Such a pretty case! :) I think this is one of their Christmas sets back in 2010 or something.

The compact itself is made in Japan, while the case is made in Taiwan.

One thing I love about this is the HUGE mirror! Also, after I assembled the foundation compact together with the case, I realised one of the reasons why this foundation costs so much more.

Usually for cheaper powder foundations, when you buy the refills, you either get a sticker that you can take out to stick onto the case, or there's a hole at the bottom of the case to suck the air out and hopefully suck enough air out to temporarily keep the compact in place.

However, things don't always go so dandy. When the sticker touches powder from the previous compact (you forgot to clean the case or something), it loses its adhesiveness, and so you are left with a refill that doesn't stick to the case! IRRITATING because I once merely shook my makeup bag, and the compact fell out and made a nightmare of a mess in my makeup bag. =__=

For this Shiseido Maquillage Lasting Powdery UV EX, the compact actually CLICKS to the case! I actually tried to wriggle the foundation around, and oohlala~ the compact stayed where it should stay and didn't budge!! CONVENIENCE X 2 MILLION.

Sorry for the bad lighting - I REALLY NEED TO CHANGE MY CAMERA! or my lightbulbs.

Finally a decent photo!

The website also illustrated how you should use the foundation! Very useful indeed because usually I start with my forehead. Now I finally know how to optimise the function of a sebum-combating foundation! (Step 2 is especially useful).

Pros:

  1. This foundation provides just enough coverage (medium-heavy coverage), which is especially great for people with oily skin, but living in a humid location like Singapore. A too-heavy-coverage will only "move around" after a few hours and will immediately make the wearer look cakey and theatre-like.
  2. It has SPF 22 PA++. If you read the recent CLEO (June 2012), there was an article on the disparity between your real age and your skin's age. The most important thing to do is to apply products with SPF because YOU NEED TO PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM THE SUN! Even when you are young!! Hence, this foundation provides just enough for women who are not constantly exposed to the sun.
  3. It evens out the skintone. For women who wear eye makeup a lot, their eye area will usually be darker than the other parts of the face because of the constant makeup application and makeup removal. This foundation actually helps to even out such unevenness! Rather impressed with this factor. I tried using it without concealer under my eyes and it made a difference!
Cons:
  1. It doesn't really live up to its sebum-combating claim. Perhaps my skin was too oily? I applied it this morning at 8am, and my skin was already oily by 1130am. When I blotted my skin, it was as oily as when I used my ZA foundation.
  2. It's not for those on a budget. The hefty pricetag is certainly not for everyone.
  3. If you are someone who has relatively normal to dry skin, please don't use the sponge to apply the foundation. It will be too cakey for you! Alternatively, you can use your kabuki or a simple powder brush
Will I buy it again?
  • Erm, maybe when I'm richer? For now, I will use this up and then go back to my ZA foundation!

Nailcolour of the week: O.P.I I Don't Give A Rotterdam

Such a pretty muted sky blue-greyish colour. It has pale pink and silver finer glitters too! My nails become especially multi-dimensional under sunlight!

SASA Sale @ Jurong Point

I'm shaking my head along to JJ Project's Bounce now. Highly addicted to this Korean song!! :D  Cute guys some more. HEHEHE.

ANYWAY, I encountered a SASA Sale at Jurong Point yesterday after my flu jab appointment. It was quite a quiet sale since there was some citibank event going on.

I managed to get some masks! These Baviphat masks are not cheap (relatively, especially compared to MBD masks), and they were going for 5 for S$8!

To round it up to S$10, I also got the Herbal Anti-Acne Mask from My Scheming (I still laugh at this brand's name HAHAHAHAHA).

Baviphat Peach Juicy Mask Sheet - Vital and Lifting

Baviphat Aloe Juicy Mask Sheet  - Soothing and Moisture

Baviphat Green Tea Juicy Mask Sheet  - Moisture and Lifting

Baviphat Strawberry Juicy Mask Sheet  - Pore and Trouble

Baviphat Grape Juicy Mask Sheet  - Lifting and Bright

I seem to be spending money like crazy these few days. NEED TO STOP. ZOMG. How to stop when Great Singapore Sale is coming up? ARGHHHHH

O.P.I Nail Polish Haul

Guess where I bought these nail polishes?

... IN THE FREAKING OFFICE!!

An email came in informing us that there was going to be a nailpolish sale, but I didn't read it properly and thought it was a promotion for the employees at some flea market, and so I deleted the email.

AND THEN, I went to the pantry to get some M&Ms, and I saw the entire Meeting Room 6 in the process of being turned into a nailpolish showroom. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!

OBS by Oo-ri International Pte Ltd came to our office for a special 3-hour nailpolish sale!! :D

You can visit their blog: http://ohbeautyshop.blogspot.com/

The below nailpolishes were all S$10 each! :)
