finally time for some tiger.

After months and months of beauty and fashion blogging, it's time for me to venture to more serious matters. Male infidelity is no stranger to any sensible women. Almost always, the one who strays is the male being - a species thought to be superior over the female in terms of responsibility, will-power and whatever else is left. Hence, isn't it a little bit comical that the male is the one having the difficulty not leaving his pants down?

If you were still dating, I guess you want to experiment. Therefore, you look for greener pastures. This excuse is reasonable to a certain extent; that is if I am your male talking buddy.

The situation then changes when the male involved is married.
The situation then changes again when the male involved is married and famous.

And once again the situation changes when the male involved is married and famous and has a hot wife.

But what's the situation like when you are Tiger Woods?

The squeaky clean golf and media darling dropped a bomb on 11th December 2009: admitting an indefinite leave from golf. Why so? So that he can focus more on his family after his multiple infidelities.

The question in my mind is not whether or not he will lose all his sponsors. Or not about whether or not his opponents are all sniggering at his mishap. I'm more concerned on whether or not he should apologise and if Elin should accept his apology.

When you do something wrong, you apologise and show remorse.
Hence, Woods should apologise and show remorse. His scenario is more complex though. Other male beings have their families and friends to answer to, but Woods has the media, his golf fans and the entire world to answer to as well. His apology is a huge one.

Leaving the professional world to focus on his family life, or saving his family life, is a wise choice.

Even if that means getting dropped from lucrative sponsors like Gatorade and Tag Heuer.

Let's list out what Woods has tried to do to salvage the situation:
  • au revoir golf!
  • admitting that it was his big-headedness that landed him in hot soup: he thought since he was that famous, he was allowed to do whatever he wanted to. Self-reflection is always helpful.
  • be on a magazine cover to reach out to more people, hence showing remorse to more people.
  • go for therapy.
  • do charity work (Woods donated $3 million to Haiti)
A commendable effort, I must admit.

Elin, on the other hand, is commendable as well. She still refuses to take him back. You go girl! In this decision, she gives up fame and wealth. This is an excellent example of how not all women are ONLY driven by money.

My opinion on this is, don't opt for a divorce but don't opt for a reconciliation either. This is for the kids (nope, I'm not all about money either). Moreover, this way, she can torture him more. Nice move.

Having affairs with 14 women, or more, is not as simple as having an affair with one. Furthermore, none of these 14 look classier or prettier than Elin. An apology is thus not so simply accepted.

Let's just hope no more women steps out and declares another affair.

bwargghh

lack of posts!

shall make up for it.

-

Finally the reign has discontinued.

Good Game.

with a pinch of salt

The last week before recess week commences and I can't help feeling choked. So many things to do all cramped up in a week.

But then again, recess week will be full of canvassing, be it for FOC or Paparazzi.

All I can look forward to is this Friday - the usual paverts are going to talk over some alcohol. Woots.

I realise I'm a changed person.
I worry about my academia more than anything else now. This is weird. I used to trouble myself over family/boy matters. Now I see no reason in getting a headache over those. Maybe you call it the epitome of a soon 21-year-old, but I call it a strong immune system. Yes, I have slight worries here and there on whether I will get married off, but those usually ended in 2 minutes or so and I would turn back to whatever assignment I was doing or drama I was watching.

The mind just doesn't work as sophomorically when you are about to turn 21.
Now that I've said it, turning 21 is a bittersweet affair.

I can walk into a sex shop freely - ignoring the 23-year-old section.
I can watch R21 movies (not porn, but SAW series. woots!).
I can be a Singapore Citizen (tentative - still thinking).
I can enjoy those spa vouchers that are stupidly given out to me but I can't use them because I was not 21 yet. Idiots.

But with that comes greater responsibility and expectations.

Yesterday I was really burdened with a thought: what if I cannot get a job after I graduate and I cannot pay off my Tuition Fee Loan?
The solution to that is obviously to continue finding a job and to let mom pay first. Problem is when you are a 24-year-old graduate, you don't really want your mom to be paying for your stuff. A bit shame shame.

So I have my long term solution:
I need to buck up and do well for my upcoming 7 examinations and make sure that before I graduate, I ALREADY HAVE A JOB. Yes, I need to do just that.

LET'S ALL WORK TOGETHER TO PAY OFF OUR DEBTS!

Never too late

The past 3-day school week was hectic. I feel so blessed to be home and just be on my bed. The only grumble I have is that my room's aircon is spoilt. Even if I decreased the temperature to 16 degrees and the fan power to the maximum, it will blow out 30 degrees worth of hot air and I will end up sweating. Bloody hell. Now my hall is much better. What a joke.

Watched NINE with usual paverts yesterday and I'm giving it a one-word review, plus some explanation.

RUBBISH

Though I agree that most of the female leads were well-cast (not sure about Kate Hudson though), Daniel Day Lewis was the biggest joke of the century. This movie is so boring I played Mahjong on my iPhone halfway through. Wasted my ten bucks.

Moving on to much more enjoyable topics, do you guys think that Dakota Fanning is chio? I think she is so pretttttttyyyyyy. Those blue eyes. She recently was the centrespread for V magazine, and ooh-la-la she is ULTIMATE CHIO.

Yup, light bulb heels. No matter how ridiculous, I cannot stop staring. These Rodarte heels are killers!

More shots from COM206 assignments.

AHLIANBEEHOON supper at my room. LOL. Getting fat because of this. GRRRRR.

This is damn funny. We were trying out this function on PhotoBooth, and we were supposed to clear the screen before taking the photo, and this was what huiying did. HAHA.

I immediately said "shui shi ni de huang shang!" HAHAHA.

For such a skinny girl, she got nice bums. HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA.

ATAS DAY

Outfit for ATAS DAY - sequin dress from Forever 21, blue blouse from JOAN ($109.90!my mom is rich), black tights and studded boots from Bugis.

And this is my outfit for NINE outing: Dorothy Perkins sequin blazer (LOVE!), Forever 21 dress ($3!) and leopard flats which were not shown here.

HAULSSS FOR THE WEEK!

Not all my items came in the mail, so fcuk it lar, just post those that I have. HAHA.

Forever 21 dress - $3

Cotton On flats - $3.75
They were having the buy 1 get 1 50% off promotion and this was my second pair.

Cotton on flats - $10

Oversized banded dress - $5

CHIO summer dress - $5 (chio chio chio)

All these masks - $9.50
Now I have plenty of Etude House masks. YAY.
Melanie is going to Korea and she is buying MORE for me! woots.

I think I need to sleep. Busy week makes me really tired and the brain is becoming useless. Don't want to turn into a Donatella (inside joke from NINE) so shall rest.

shagged

Haul post postponed to Saturday afternoon. Not all the items are in!

NINE was boring. Daniel Day Lewis is ultimate fail. How I wish Johnny Depp was Quido instead. Idiots.

Fergie was good though, tad scary, but good.

some people are just pure bitches

*This is purely for ranting purposes. No direct finger-pointing at anyone. Indirect, perhaps.*

In this world, there are two types of bitches: a smart bitch and a pure bitch.

Smart bitches know when to control their comments. Pure bitches just fire whatever thoughts come to mind in that particular time.

In short, smart bitches are straightforward but not as nearly as straightforward as pure bitches because they share their comments depending on the situation. Personally, I think I am a smart bitch because yes I do have my fair share of mean comments, but I don't go round shooting them till I look like a giant bomb machine.

What do I exactly mean by controlling my comments?
Let's take themed days as an example (no direct relation, just an example). If I see someone dressing not so nicely, but I know he/she has put in the effort, I will not say anything mean to the person, or even showing doubt about the person's outfit. I mean, come on, the person already made an effort!

Smart bitches also listen to whatever others have in mind, not just her own opinions. This, I must admit, is quite hard to master because as a bitch, you are already that self-opinionated, so listening to what others have to say is not that easy. But, it's a skill that everyone must learn. Pure bitches who just refuse to listen to anyone will lose out in the end. The world does not revolve around you and you have to realise that.

Seriously, I hate it when I say my opinions about something, and then the other party just look at me in a condescending manner like as if what I said was filth. Please stop doing that because in the end you will turn off everyone around you no matter how nice a mask you have put on in the beginning.

Women are not born bitches. I'm one because I'm forced to become one under whatever shitty environment I was brought up in. But dear women, you can choose to be one that can be loved by, maybe, all.

Stop thinking that the world is only yours and that all that matter is you, you, you. Widen your eyes.

As you can already sense by now, I'm really pissed off. This is really testing my patience. I have never tolerated for so long in my whole life before. Nowadays, I don't really flare up with no good reason, and when I do, people think I'm unreasonable. Like hello? Are you cuckoo-cuckoo out of your mind?

I don't know how long will this ranting go if I don't realise that it's already midnight. Boo to you!

Good luck to those in production process for Nanyang Chronicles.
Good luck to those attending 202 lecture tomorrow, including myself.
Good luck pure bitches, your days will not last long.

Bummer. What a start to a brand new day.

holidays are not good for the pockets

To add to already mentioned haul items, I just added these:
  • Rimmel eyeshadow palette (the newest one fronted by Ayumi Hamasaki) $5
  • ZA pore smoother $4
  • 3 ELF Studio brushes $21
  • 3 O2 White masks $3.50
and maybe more to come.

Holidays should just stop lar. It's hurting my bank account.

Midnight ramblings

Once again caught in the twirl of nocturnal-ism and self-respect. The night is too tempting to miss. Everything comes alive at night for students like myself. The night is like the kind soul who gives you a penny at the end of the day after a long futile day of begging. The night is when you know you should be resting to prepare you for the next day, but you are not because you don't want the new day to start too soon.

A simple hymn in the empty night air can bring joy to the lonely heart.

The night is my salvation.

Today has been rewarding. I was determined to complete my news article and I did albeit the numerous mistakes I may make. Who cares today, shall care when Ronald vets it on Wednesday.

Even the Cash Deposit machine in Bukit Panjang Plaza has been cooperating. Almost always, the machine will break down. But not today! I was able to deposit my angbao moolahs and having extra money in my bank account makes me feel really good.

Guardian was extremely nice too. I was out of body soap and WOOTS they had a buy-one-get-one-free offe on their housebrand bodywash. Guardian's products have always been my favourites and there were so many other stuff on BOGO, but I controlled myself. See! Told you today was a good good day.

(Random: STEPHANIE! Lollipop26 bought the exact same pair of Topshop flats as yours! WOOTS!)

Mahjong was very SHOCKING. I have been losing for the past 6 months or so and hence I was rather put off by the game itself. But I decided to play today cause I could not stick with SGMAHJONG LITE on iPhone. LOL. AND I WON! Crazy day. I opened my tiles and I had 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 bamboo tiles. WHAT THE NAVI right! Very good day. Took taxi home without guilt. HAHA.

Checked the mailbox next, and MY FOREVER 21 DRESS IS HERE! I thought it would be in really bad quality since I got it for $3, but HEY HEY HEY, it was fab to the max. Love love love. Shall bring to hall. I expect myself to be wearing a lot of it. It was that comfortable. =)

I guess it's just those rare days when I feel really optimistic about how things are going to turn out. It happens like perhaps 7 days out of 365 possible.

What is to be done tomorrow:
  • Complete 208 self-made notes and print them out
  • Before that, ask Mom to buy printer ink first.
  • STUDY 208
  • Read through 202 project guideline AGAIN and figure out what exactly is needed in the project outline. (blergh)
  • Check mailbox for more online purchases.
Busy day ahead. Shall sleep....soon...

)(*&^%$$#%^&*()_(*&^%$#@$%^&*()

coming up

The postage is getting really slow and I haven't gotten any of the items that I shopped for.

I bought:

So much shopping has been done and so little assignments have been completeted.

midweek crisis

School this week has been so far so busy.

Everyday is packed to the brim and no, not for academic purposes. HAHA.

This is a photo that I took from Jialiang's house, I think it was from the dining area window or something. Quite breathtaking. Love his house. My last shot for 206 assignment was also taken at his house, and it turned out awesome. YAY.

Tomorrow will be photoshop session. Hip hip hooray, thank God I have a roomie that is VERY knowledgeable in Adobe Photoshop.

Yesterday, Kenny and I went for ValenWine. He was the editor, I was on the panel list. I drank close to 10 servings of wine and cocktail and I was really drunk. The best part was that I had a lecture after that and I didn't have my laptop with me, so I started poking and playing with my neighbours' keyboard. I posted weird stuff on facebook and ohmygosh I was O_O when I woke up and was sober this morning.

After that went to celebrate Lohla's birthday! We had Billy Bombers and the food is ohsogood, especially the 50% off chocolate fondue. yummy. Nigel was very nice to split the bill 60-40. HAHA.

I finally bought my planner!

Free 12 sets of stickers.

For 25.50. Aiyah. for such a nice planner, I shall spend. CNY coming anyway. GRR.

I just came back from JP's Carl's Jr with Paverts. HAHA. Wang taught me how to eat healthily there today. You just say you "low-carb" your burger, then your burger will come wrapped in lettuce instead the buns. woots.

SHOULD I WATCH CHICAGO WITH PAVERTS OR NOT! It's 150 bucks for Cat-1 tickets. I'm definitely having second thoughts. BOO.

morning madness

I made it to hall alive, though with a tint of migraine. I thought I would faint halfway due to the vicious fever, but a hot cup of coffee proved more lethal.

Early mornings are a nemesis to helpless people waiting for taxis. Before 6, taxis would flock the roads, in hope of idiots who stupidly pay the 50% midnight surcharge. After 6, taxis would all go into hiding, waiting to prowl again at 7am, when the peak-hour starts.

I waited and waited and waited hopelessly for a taxi just 2 hours ago. I saw 178 drive into the bus stop twice and I had countless mental struggle to take the bus. However, accompanied by a luggage, a backpack, a camera bag and a tripod bag, I cannot risk the lives of other bus passengers.

Half an hour later I gave up waiting on this side of the road and crossed the road since I saw more taxis with green signs. Another 15 minutes passed, and I spotted a taxi. I waved like a chicken trying to fly and yes! it swerved into the busstop. I was lucky enough because the taxi driver is terminating at Jurong East.

In total I paid $12.80 because I went by Dairy Farm exit. But those moolahs were worth it because I had a nice Malay taxi driver. Very polite, very quiet (bless him) and very good driving skills.

In conclusion,

Chinese taxi drivers please learn from your Malay counterparts. Yakking away does not make you an engaging taxi driver; passengers get irritated.

I reached hall and could not sleep due to abovementioned lethal coffee. Being a studious student, I gobbled up the 204 readings and looked through the powerpoint slides. Then, I created a to-do list for February 2010.

oh!

The aircon is fixed by the way.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

time to get ready for lecture and the thought of having to lug the camera and tripod back to school is putting me off, but I will survive!

puffy eyes

Just finished watching Hachiko.

Seriously we should no longer use dogs as swear words, because they have much more character than us.

Cryfest like shit. =(=(
Photo above is the bronze statue outside of Shibuya station in Japan whereby the real Hachiko waited for his deceased master for 9 straight years before finally succumbing to illness.

I have puffy eyes now.
Such a mess.

I'm watching Hachiko: A Dog's Story, and omg, i'm going to cry so bad.

i'm bushed. really bushed

Another weekend is here yet again, and it's going to end soon. Weekends are a love-hate affair. Once it comes, you get excited and it goes so swiftly that your excitement cannot last.

But oh well, weekends are meant for blog post choked with photos.

This week has been very eventful, filled with good and bad happenings. I shall not dwell on the bad matter since I don't really give a damn anyway.

Let's start with something that Huiying told me. LOL. Apparently Fifi is a good friend of Hello Kitty and I'm supposed to be a meh-meh.

Yes we are still kids.

Finally met up with dear Stufu on Friday! Weeeeeeeeeee. Although we didn't really buy anything, but the talking and bitching were good enough a reason for more meet-ups. I'm critical and she is as critical. Walking along Orchard Road and bitching about whatever fashion disasters we see. Bliss ~

We ate at ShoTeppan and it was very worth my money! 10.90 and I was filled up to the brim. Doesn't sound right, but you get the meaning.

MORE MEET-UPS SOON! Maybe to Mela's house, and then to stufu's house. HAHA.

Last Wednesday was another Paverts Theme Day. We were supposed to come in GREEN! I love how we look so herbal together, yet we don't have a freckle of army-inspired uniformness. Great job people!

I was taller than Song since I came with my heels, which explained this pursed-lip look of his.
(Kok is always twisting.)

I love this photo alot because I look like I have super long legs. HAHA. Since the upcoming trend is to wear things as short as possible and pair them with tower-high heels, I need more apparels and shoes!

Inspired by Kenneth Goh

Last Tuesday was ARTSIE FARTSIE NIGHT for us paverts. Seriously, it was very therapeutic and all our stress just melted away.

This is an epic photo. I was trying to squeeze some yellow paint out and I forgot that I had blue paint in the middle of the newspaper brush. And so I ended up with blue paint on my lips and teeth.

=.=

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

And Last Monday we had a shooting. No details will be revealed till the video is up. HAHA.

Stephanie got me these from Dubai. woots.

And I realise a DAMN GOOD blusher combination that makes my face look really glowy.

THIS...

AND THIS!
I have hit pan on this blusher. It was that good.

NICE RIGHT NICE RIGHT!
=)

HAULS OF THE WEEK!

Maybelline Pulse Perfection Waterproof Vibrating Mascara
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

Swatches without flash

More ELF items
I'm so going to buy the ELF Studio line brushes for my next spree.

Tomorrow I need to go for SURFnSWEAT at Sentosa to raise funds for FOC. No matter how exciting that sounds, I have a wee bit of disappointment because my Sunday will be gone just like that.

And I need to wake up DAMN early.

Bother.
