Back and fat.

Roadtrip is now done and dusted.

In just 12 short days, I conquered 12 cities in 6 countries. More ticks are checked and of course a result of the roadtrip is me being poorer and much fatter. Nothing much you can do about eating greasy food for every meal and then sitting in a car for long hours. I redeemed myself by walking everywhere in a city, with very rare subway rides. Imagine if we have been lazy and taken public transport everywhere, we would have come back as elephants.

For the curious, here are the cities that I have been to in the past 12 days in order:

Munich, Germany
Salzburg, Austria
Vienna, Austria
Bratislava, Slovakia
Budapest, Hungary
Krakow, Poland
Auschwitz, Lesser Poland
Katowice, Poland
Prague, Czech Republic
Dresden, Germany
Berlin, Germany
Hamburg, Germany

My top 3 cities would be Salzburg, Vienna and Budapest.

Auschwitz was MOTHER depressing. I came out of the concentration camp a beaten down person who knows what not to repeat and I learned to appreciate my life more. Maybe the entire Singapore should just have an excursion in Auschwitz, then they will learn to appreciate the pampered life they are blessed with and stop fucking complaining about everything.

I won't go into politics in my blog, so I'm stopping here.

With any travelling, there are SURE to be some shopping done. For me, this trip was quite restrictive because of Ryanair's luggage limit of 10kg. I arrived at Munich (first stop) with 9.4kg worth of clothes already, so HOW CAN I SHOP MUCH?

HENCE I DEVISED A GENIUS PLAN!

I would try to use up as much liquid as possible (read: facial products, shampoo, soap, moisturiser and all that jazz) and shop for accessories and cosmetics ONLY. Clothes can be bulky and if my luggage looks huge, I am sure they will ask me to weigh my bag. And of course, I need to leave my stuff everywhere with everyone else travelling with me.

AND SO I CAME BACK SAFE AND HAPPY.

First up! COSMETICS! :D

I bought these all in Germany because the first day was the most relaxed one and we rushed everywhere after that because of incapability of waking up on time (definitely not me, i'm always first to be ready, given my natural ability to wake up 2 hours before the meeting time to put on my facade).

L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara - 6 euros, down from 11.50 euros
Maybelline One by One Volume Express Mascara - 9.99 euros (NEW)
ASTOR Anti Shine Mattitude Powder - 3.99 euros
Manhattan Clearface Powder Pearls - 6 euros I think (so reminiscent of Guerlain ones!)

The mascaras were really awesome, but I need to use them a few more times before a proper review. The Maybelline one is really huge in Europe right now with youtubers raving it over and over again. I think it is highly similar to Covergirl's Lash Blast, but this works less well on the volumising factor.

ASTOR is a German brand, I bought it mainly because of the price. 3.99 euros is too good to miss.

The yikes factor is those pearls. They look pretty and intriguing and all, but I don't exactly know the purpose of the product. I tries using the cotton pad that it came with and all I could see was sheer glitter. I highly doubt that it is used as a highlighter because my Turkish friend who can read German, said that it's like a finishing powder. Hence, I tried using my stipling brush and still I feel nothing on my face. Usually feeling like you have applied nothing on your face is a good feeling, but this one makes me feel kind of cheated. HALO PRODUCT, WORK!

H&M in Central Europe is CHEAP. When the prices are in euros, everything seems cheap. And to be honest, the prices were really cheaper than those in Sweden. STUPID SWEDISH KRONA.

I got myself some jinglyjangly bracelets. Lately, I have been obsessed with either bold bright colours, or rusted metallic brownish colours, and you can see that I bought mostly things of those colours. Two extremes that can be incorporated into an awesome look. heh :D

Orange set: 2.95 euros (H&M)
Blue set: 2.95 euros (H&M)
Brown set: 7.95 euros (H&M)

Belt: 2.95 euros or was it 4.95 euros? Can't really remember. (H&M)

Earrings from everywhere. H&M, flea markets, designer markets, etc. Prices were all in different currencies so my brain can't handle the calculations right now. HAHA. And yes, I'm crazy about turquoise because the colour complements my hair colour so well! :D

And some rings from a variety of places as well.

The pink polka-dotted with blue rim one is made entirely out of threads. VERY COOL AND VERY ACT CUTE. I LIKE.

Some LOTDs before I went for my roadtrip!

I actually look thin here. wah.

FML seriously as I have to go back to editing 695 photos right now. ARGH.

3 weeks before Greece trip. I SHALL STARVE MYSELF.

Do comment if you like this post! I'm still trying to get used to the fact that cbox is gone, so keep me posted with your opinions! :D

New layout for a new obsession

I figure the old layout was too depressing and I do need lots of colours in my life!

The thing that I really am bugged about is the disappearance of the cbox - or that box that allows my friends to type in whatever they like at the side of the page, and of course the box that is a hit among spammers.

Now you guys have no choice, but to finish reading the entire thing, and if you want to comment, you gotta click the comment box. So troublesome for my readers, but if that were to be traded with an exuberant blog layout, that I'll take it.

YAY FOR COLOURS AND CHILDISH FONTS! :D

what can i do without shopping?

When I'm out and I have money in my wallet, I just spend.

In my defence, I only look at sale items and all the items I bought from Monki were 75% off. So I ended up saving S$150 okay! =S

Monki Black Semi-Maxi Dress for 100SEK, down from 400SEK.
This is a wee bit sheer, but solvable with a longer inner tank.

Longer inner tank for above dress. 50SEK down from 200SEK.

Favourite purchase. Asymmetrical Purple Checkered Blouse. 100SEK down from 400SEK.
This is a very unique piece! There are actually 3 buttons at the side, so that you can make the buttonline asymmetrical as well. Versatile!

Random shot that I took today while I was out.

I really just wore this out, without any outer jacket whatsoever. Can die. The wind was damn bloody strong. D:

Lazy day, so anyhow match black stuff. LOL.

What the left side of my table looks like now. Therapeutic in a weird sense.

I LOVE MY NEW VINTAGE JACKET. YAYNESS.

Migraines

It's 8pm and the sun has barely set. The sky's a mellow blue tone, the trees still are bald. Days in Stockholm gets more and more melancholic.

The transition from winter to spring really gets into my head, literally.

I get migraines so often these few days that it brings me back to the horrors of 'A' Levels. Maybe it's because I sleep too much. Or maybe it's because I stare at the laptop screen too much.

But my migraine is not making me happy.

I want to sleep it off, but the pain crawls up ever so readily. I want to laugh it off, but the bright laptop screen makes me squint. I want to jump around and sweat it off, but the rhythm stays in my head and that makes the migraine worse.

Life sucks seriously.

I cannot wait for spring to REALLY come and then I shall go out every single day and breathe in fresh air, or perhaps drink some cafe somewhere while taking photos of fabulous Swedish people.

And now onto the next remedy... coffee.

HAUL POST

Shopping in Stockholm has become a once-in-a-month affair (nope I don't count my buys from out of Stockholm. LOL.) H&M still proves to be a favourite, and I am extremely bitter than the fashion chain is opening a branch in Singapore. HALO. NOW I WILL LOOK THE SAME AS YOUNG AHLIANS. =.= THEREFORE, I will vow to shop more at Monki, because I do not see it opening in Singapore anytime soon. I have 3 Cheap Monday jeans now, so TAKE THAT YOUNG AHLIANS. *super angry about life*

My most proud purchase of this month should be this SUPER VINTAGE LOOKING denim jacket from Weekday. I didn't even realise they had a vintage level, and all the prices were rather reasonable. I mean 80 bucks for a one-of-a-kind and chio vintage denim jacket should be more than reasonable right? I would expect such good quality product to fetch around 300 bucks if this retails in Singapore!

(As you can already notice, I'm trying to convince myself that it's a good buy. Please tell me it's a good buy! HAHA. COMMENTS GREATLY APPRECIATED! YAY)

LOOK AT THIS CHIONESS OF A DENIM JACKET.

The pink, turquoise and brown stripes are too MUCH FOR MY SANITY. It's menswear and this piece is in an M size, so it is very baggy. BUT HECK WHO CARES FOR BAGGINESS WHEN I WILL LOOK FIERCE.

I will so pair this with black top and black leggings. Fitting from top to toe to not look like I am 200 pounds or something. And I NEED TO TAKE OUT THOSE SHOULDER PADS. Woes of a broad-shouldered girl.

And I changed my hair colour! It's supposed to be bright red (the packaging is shown later in this post), but I guess I got dark red out of my black hair instead. I'm hoping that it will become brighter after several washes.

Trying to wear bright colours to make myself feel happier because of the gloomy, silent-hill-lookalike atmosphere in Stockholm recently. MORE COLOURS PLEASE.

I bought clips! I wanted to act cute and spring-y, so I bought the floral ones too. HEEHEE.

H&M purchases! All for 99SEK = around 20 bucks.

HALO HORSES IMPRINTED ON BRIGHT BLUE FABRIC. The other option was black rabbits on pale rose fabric, but halo, why would you wear pale rose in spring?

BRIGHT ORANGE SWEATER. WOOHOO. The colour is much brighter in real life. Cannot wait to pair this with black/taupe high-waisted skirt.

Ya, I am still fixated on leopard prints. HEE. I needed a break from the TOMS anyway.

The skirts were 75SEK each, around 15 bucks?

And this was how the colour was supposed to be like! FAIL.

I bought ISADORA (Swedish brand) vibralash mascara as well. This is vibrating mascara to a whole new level; it has 3 different speeds (nabei sounds like a sex toy can) and it has proven to be the most separating mascara that I have ever used. SO YAY TO ISADORA.

Recent outfit of the days!

YAY. NEXT POST WILL BE ON STOCKHOLM PILLOWFIGHT DAY AND MY ATTEMPT AT COOKING FOR 6 PEOPLE! :)

heh heh

My Environmental History lecturer just said that essays written the day or couple of days before the dateline are more often than not not as well-written as those that have been in the process for a long time.

So bullshit.

In my entire 22 years, all the essays that I wrote last minute always fare better than those that I started writing early.

AIYOYO.
