Another haul post! Techinally it's not entirely a haul post because the makeup stuff are all from Seira in UK! =D

Cotton On sunglasses! 5 bucks each

I am going back to get some aviators, which are 6 bucks each. Awesome price.

These are all the stuff that Seira got for me. Well, of course I conjured up a list for her. I mentioned to get some Sleek palettes, and she gave me all 4 main palettes. AWESOME POSSUM.

The face products.

2true is a UAE product and I guess the quality of their packaging is rather lousy. HAHA. But ohmygosh I love the smell of their pressed powder! Like baby powder! And it contains alot so I predict a long-time relationship with this powder!

Rimmel Pressed Powder is a repeat buy. Love the one that Lily bought for me for Christmas, and so I got a back-up! =D

Rimmel mascara and eyeliner.
2True eyeliner.

The stars of this post! SLEEK PALETTES in ACID, SUNSET, THE ORIGINAL and STORM.

Starting with THE ORIGINAL.

A palette with all the possible neutral colours and 1 or 2 pop of colours for a refreshing change. I like this palette and my favourite colour here should be the very awesome moss green at the right end of the 1st row.

Swatches for THE ORIGINAL

STORM

This has got to be my favourite palette because of the existence of matte nude brown and matte taupe colours. The nude brown is almost exactly similar to the colour of my eyelid, which means whenever I feel like doing only-eyeliner look, I can rely on this colour as a base powder to prevent the eyeliner from smudging. Weeeeee.

Of course another reason why I like this so much is because of the neutrality of this palette. Most of the time, my eye look will be smoky, and this palette allows much flexibility for a smoky look!

Swatches for STORM

SUNSET

Rather unique colours, with the bright orange and copper colours all combined in one palette. I guess the bright blue emulate the sea huh?

A very pretty palette with some colours that I will never dare to touch like the killer red beside the matte black. Red eyeshadows make my eyes look swollen, hence I tend to avoid them. However, I tried this colour just now just to make sure, and I believe that the pearlescent effects actually diminish the swollen look. Maybe I was just too happy to be able to obtain so many palettes in one go. Well, shall wear it out one day, and please comment on that day's eyelook. HAHA.

Swatches for SUNSET.

ACID

Crazy crazy palette with NEON colours. I must say that the neon colours are coming out super powdery. This means that the tendency for fallouts while applying is very very high. Pigmentations of neon colours are not that great as well. The neon green is really pretty though. I can see myself applying it on the lower lids as an eyeliner. SO SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT! =D

No idea why the silver is in this palette though. HAHA

Swatches for ACID.

In all, most of the colours are shimmery with the majority having quite big chunks of glitter. It's manageable for me because I like shimmery eyes, but I really hate it when the glitters fall on my cheeks and then I look like a shining trophy.

Apart from that, I am really really happy!

G11 coming tomorrow too! =D=D REALLY REALLY HAPPY!

decency surfaced

Coding, FOC, Paparazzi and fLIPR have officially taken over most of my time and so my blogging streak just went poof. I don't really have time to shop, and most of my shopping is done online. The only time I can shop is when I am damn early for a meeting and so I have to kill time. My life sounds sucky all of a sudden.

Let's just summarise recent purchases:

10 masks from gmarket singapore. They were 50 cents each. I ordered 10 green tea ones too, but they were out of stock. ho hum.

I used the orange one last night, and I was surprised at how it constantly stung my eyes. I think the formula that they use is not eye-friendly at all. The problem is the liquid didn't accidentally seep into my eyes or something, they just feel really sting-y. No idea why though. GAH.

But I woke up to a very moisturised face. I guess sacrifices must be made.

Floral skirt for 4 bucks from gmarket also.
I think I'm giving it to my sis.

TOO SMALL FOR ME. HMMPHHHH.

Gmarket jacket - 12 bucks I think?

Material is damn good for 12 bucks. It looks kind of sloppy here, but I assure you the jacket looks smart when worn.

Damn bloody cheap - $3.30 on gmarket.

$3.30 also. From the same seller.

I guess they are selling at such crazy prices because they are clearing stocks. I read in their terms and conditions that once an item is out of stock, no replenishment will be made. Hooray to that.

Purchases from sgselltrade - zipper top for 10 bucks.

The zippers are functional. So if I want the shirt to be looser, I can unzip! =D

Forever 21 Lace dress from same seller as above top. 15 bucks.

Material is rather thin, but at least the skirt part is double layered.

There are certainly more haul posts coming up because I am a bargain-hunter, and because I have awesome friends who buy stuff for me. =D

During paparazzi meeting today, I was exceptionally cheerful because I closed 2 deals on ebay.

I purchased a Diane Von Furstenberg maxi dress for 50 bucks and a pair of Marc Jacobs flats for 30 bucks. Total savings of more than 700 dollars.

I am bloody awesome.

Cheerful week ahead because genting holiday is coming soon! =D

Events summary:
  • 24th June: Meet up with Seira's friend to get my cosmetics from UK! Thanks Seira! After that off to Jo's house for DIY Beauty spread photoshoot.
  • 25th June: FOC Packages must be packed! Meet Huihuan after that to pass her all the coding stuff.
  • 26th June: Hand-delivery to freshies living at Upper Bukit Timah to Bukit Batok (depends on where they allocate me to)
  • 27th June: Facial then off to Kenny's house for mooncake tasting. =D Popo and kungkung will be here too! YAY
  • 28th June: Let's hope G11 arrives before I leave for Genting. Bus ride to Genting at night! =D
What a week. =D

Father's Day

Whatever.

That time of the year is here again. Everyone celebrates their superman daddies and I just stay home, getting depressed over the fact that my own father is a blank thought in my head.

But I have decided to not be sad and act all tragic this year.

Not having a father figure for all my life has not affected me in any way.
Instead, I grew up more independent than ever.

I solve my own problems and I don't let anything get into me.

Awesome.

Today is Father's Day. Thanks to my father for letting me grow up maturely. =D

BTW, for those who don't already know my life story, here is a brief summary:

mom and dad got married too early (well at 24, not that early lar), then dad started to be really scrimpy, mom can't even eat anything at home because dad will be pissed if she does, so mom became really thin, and she decided to run away with me in her arms. and she ran to my grandma's good friend's house and after that i was brought to my grandma's and was brought up there. word has it that my dad has remarried and well i hope he's not ill-treating his new wife.

but ohwell, i heard all this from my grandaunt, so i don't really know the truth in it.

Someday I will just invite my dad for my wedding, and that's all.

OH! another thing to thank dear father - he's pure javanese, meaning im mixed blood according to indonesian terms.

exotic look, in indonesian terms as well. HAHA

coding catastrophe again

We have just been given a new set - USA channels.

Somebody just KILL ME.

Their food commercials are almost always more than 45 seconds long, and they talk like the bullet train.

And they celebrate Armadillo Day, and the news featured it. Keyword here is "featured" - meaning they put utmost importance to it.

Gosh.

Where's my mom? She's coming back with korean beef set. yum.

L'oreal Beauty Sale V2

Finally some photos of the things that I bought today at the sale. I do think that I should have bought some lipsticks. I shall see again on Wednesday before I meet Kenny for some Indo food-tasting. =D

I spent a total of 155 bucks. Quite a lot. So starvation regime is ongoing. Either I eat things that are available in my house (instant noodles) or nothing. Good plan.

This time round, I focused more on skincare, body and hair because the cosmetics were repetitive from past sales. Though L'oreal had some awesome deals that I cannot miss out on.

Here's the family portrait!

Perfect Slim Night - 2 for $15 (I am flabby and due to bad genetics, I have dimples on various parts)

Derma Genesis Pore Minimising Smoother - $10 each

Perfect Slim Pro-Massage - 2 for $15 (same reason as 1st product)

L'oreal Elseve Shampoo (assorted) - 2 for $10

L'oreal Elseve Conditioner - 2 for $10

All four are in 400 ml containers. Great savings. =D

Vichy Normaderm Toner - $10

Vichy counter was INSANE! People rushed for it and after 30 minutes GONE GONE GONE! I was lucky enough to get this. SIAO ONE.

Maybelline Angelfit Foundation + Refill - $15
L'oreal foundation, concealer and blusher - part of 4 for $20
L'orea liquid foundation - $10

Maybelline MAGNUM mascara - $10 (FINALLY A NEW MASCARA)
L'oreal kohl liners, liquid liners and eyeshadow palette - part of 4 for $20 (Yes I bought 8)

Swatches of everything.

Looking rather pathetic because I used my iPhone camera since the stupid digicam is down.
Aiyah, my bad. HAHA.

I'm going to try the slimming products now. SO EXCITED!

Oh by the way, this is really random. I was cleaning my room and I counted 41 pairs of shoes, not counting slippers. I am flabbergasted.

L'oreal Beauty Sale V1

Today's the day that we gear up for the upcoming battle with vicious tai-tais and smelly cheenapok aunties.

L'oreal Beauty Sale is here once again.

I was very glad that it was held at the Concorde Hotel and not the dreaded Singapore Expo because being held at Expo means facing another group of nemesis - the maids.

The thing that I'm pissed off about is how they were really unprepared for the sale. They promised to open their doors at 10am, but they only did at 10.23am. For someone who hates lateness, that's an eternity and I think mao had to endure 23 minutes of my cursing and swearing.

The other thing is that the staff there are not trained enough! When I asked about certain prices, they needed to ask their friend, who had to ask another friend, who had to ask the supervisor. Like halo, aren't you working and tending to this specific booth? The cashier was no better. He had a paper filled with the prices of all the items but obviously he refused to learn the paper before the sale and he had to refer to them constantly even though the price tags were already plastered on the products. I understand that he's afraid that we would change the price tags etc... but how would you react when the cashier said "I know. I am the cashier." when you just nicely told him that the items were 4 for 20 bucks.

Fuck shit.

Nevermind. I still spent $155. And Huiling is going back tomorrow to get some more stuff for me. Lipsticks mainly because I thought they were the usual red scary ones, but surprisingly they sold really nice nude lipsticks. So that's another 20 bucks down the drain.

Though the sale had sucky staff, and it entirely ruined my shopping experience, I had good news this morning. I was reminding my mom about G11 and she replied "ok. popo buy for you as birthday present. buy in spore" WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH.

So I think I'm going to buy this week, perhaps Friday? =D
Such a joyful day with thorny parts.

As of now, I am in school with HL, HH and WL and we are earning money without doing anything AGAIN because our supervisor is having a meeting with her professor and we have nothing to do. HAHA. Watch videos lar, type blog posts lar, and then getting paid for it.

However, we have to chiong all the coding for Singapore and intercoder's reliability for USA because of all the holidays that we are going to.

Here's my plan:
  • Today: consolidate everything and then check full channel till 8pm. Bring home everything and check the rest (very reluctant to, because have to carry everything home, meaning I have tons to bring back. cuckoobird.)
  • Tuesday: (back-up plan if Monday's plans are foiled) Come to school REALLY early and start checking. MUST FINISH BY TUESDAY
  • Wednesday: come back to do consolidation like sifting out repeat commercials etc.
  • Thursday: intercoder's 9-dvd coding
  • Friday: supervisor not around so I guess this day is OFF (BUY G11!)
  • Saturday: complete intercoder's reliability for USA. =D
Rather nauseous when I look through whatever I just wrote for coding.

Beauty Sale haul will be up tonight. Well I think. HAHA.

did it again

Went a little overboard on Gmarket. No suprises at all.

I bought 20 masks for 10 bucks. (O_O), 2 tops, a denim jacket and a chiffon skirt. AWESOME.

More tomorrow.

In no mood to update properly.

coding catastrophe

We are screwed. We have so many things to do.

BTW, we are waiting for HH and WL to come back with lunch.
And Sulin is talking to us about marriage.

I am hungry. Be-Lar-Dy hell.

fLIPR Magazine

A magazine started from a simple facebook message thread.

Our ambitions held our passion strong and we went ahead despite the fact that we were rather short on resources, products and manpower. However, I believe our rather infinite pool of ideas kept us going strong and of course not forgetting our 2 very capable leaders, Wilson Wang and Kenneth Goh.

Wilson Wang, the master of the layout and the king of photoshop. Without him our magazine will not look that presentable.

Kenneth Goh (who is currently interning at SPH), is the guru of boomz (yes, I figure he really likes this word. HAHA). He is the one that directs our thoughts.

So in short...Wang is the posh car, Kenny is the high-tech machines and the rest of the editors and sub-editors are the passengers.

Honestly speaking, I wasn't too sure about the magazine. At first, I assumed it was just going to be a student's ambition brought to life momentarily. After the holidays, all will be gone as we divert our attention back to our studies.

Hell no.

It's 4 days after our first issue launch, and we have around 130 members (137 now) on our facebook group (largely thanks to the very supporting people of WKWSCI), over 7K unique views on isuu.com and ......

WE HAVE PRESS INVITES!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!

fLIPR is awesome.

Thank you for the awesome support!! =D

With this, I announce fLIPR...

hi 500th post

To another 500 more! =D

By the way, Lisa is looking for a cashier at an aeroponics farm. 3 days 198 bucks. Awesome. Don't know whether there will be coding meeting this Friday or not.

Let's hope not.

I WANT THE JOB! =D

halo pictures!!

I shall blog about Naiba's extremely belated birthday celebration and Chan's in another post.
Those two events left me feeling fatter than before. HAHA.

Mom finally stocked up the kitchen and she bought this awesome instant noodles. DAMN GOOD.

Beef steak flavour.

I still have one in satay beef flavour. Shall eat that on Wednesday or something. Cannot wait. YUM.

And yes, they included soup. THE SOUP WAS FUCKING AWESOME. I can just drink the soup with rice and I will be happy happy happy.

Extremely heartening lunch. =D

I have been loving Cotton On this GSS. They are fucking awesome with their discounts. =D

I got this Cotton On studded cardigan for 20 bucks. Love this so much, but there's a possibility that it will look like a night gown. So must style this carefully.

Cotton On flared shorts for 10 bucks. This is the type of shorts that will make my legs look slimmer. In this photo, I look like I have very thin legs. Sorry folks, optical illusion.

I actually forgot where this came from. O_O
But definitely less than 5 bucks. =D

Bought off Ebay for 1.99. And no, that's not the front part of the shirt. It's actually the back and the problem with this is that, the tag is wrongly placed. HAHA. we can simply solve that by chopping that nasty thing off.

Got a frail-looking top for 1.99 also. This is a hohum buy. =/

Rather pricey purchase, in my lingo, at 12.50.
But I like how roomy this is. =D

12.50 also. Long black dress that I plan to wear in a one-shoulder style. If not I look like a nun.
Maybe with additional coloured leggings. woots.

Some toiletries from Guardian....

And Watsons... (pardon me, I'm getting really tired from coding, and my language capabilities now can match those of a Primary 1 kid)

andddddddd

MY FIRST EVER URBAN DECAY PALETTE!!! =D=D

I got it for 17 bucks. HOW AWESOME IS THAT! =D

My favourite colours ought to be SMOG and MAUI WOWIE. I wanted to love OIL SLICK as much but the glitters are too chunky.

Pigmentation is awesome though. LIKE REALLY AWESOME.

I can't believe I got myself an Urban Decay item before a MAC item. Teehee.

Aiyah, words are not forming the right way in my head right now.
Shall let this post end here.

More coding to be done, and then HIMYM marathon, and then coffee and then no sleep, and then coding meeting and then CRASH!

BYE!
