thank god the exams are OVER!! =)

Before we get into the exciting, hauly hauly part, let me recap my monster week. I had experienced my first ever university examinations, and nope, it wasn't a joyful affair. Like seriously, how can anyone endure 3 examination papers in ONE FREAKING DAY? And among that 3, 2 were my core papers.

However, after doing my core papers, I realise I'm well-suited to this course. The sole reason for that will be because I bull-shitted so very much, and I don't feel bull-shitty. The feeling was awesome. Yes, it was.

The only bad thing about the examinations was that I am forever cooped in my hostel room with Jo and because of excessive mugging, the both of us went crazy and did weird stuff like tweeting each other when we sat so near each other, screaming over bugs, cursing cherian, etc.
And, yes, I gained weight because of those darned exams.

So I have promised to go on a diet. well, a promise is a promise. teehee.

So let's go AALLLLLLLLLLLL the way back to 20th november when I went for the CCKSS Alumni Dinner.

I ventured into hoops again. No idea why. And those Charles and Keith heels were a big hit with Mdm Prema and Mdm Rosnah. LOL.

I had a really good time going back to CCKSS, but I felt that I had really wasted my fifteen bucks. Food was okay-ish, concert was guaguagua, the only good thing was the teachers. MR David Leong is as cute as ever, and he mentioned that he kept everything we gave to him for Teachers' Day in Secondary 1 till now, and still sometimes look at them. AWWWWWW. =)
Saw Mr Melvin Kong, Mrs Patrine Tang, Mr Loy, etc.
And yes, I granted my own wish: I called Mr Tan Wee Liat by his name only. The actual sentence was , "I want to take photo with Wee Liat!" LOL. Take that TWL! He was the teacher who kept arguing with me and who kept saying my English was HORRIBLE just because I wrote something that he didn't understand.
I was rather surprised that Mr (shit now I forget his name, steph should know, HELP!) remembered me so much. HAHA.
The best thing was, I get to see my dear MDM PREMA again! =) She did what she always does when she sees me, which is to ask about Kengyang (are you reading now! she asked about you! LOL). But she left before Steph and I could take a photo together with her. boo.

On Saturday, Wilsong, Horny Hui and I went to our work briefing at Suntec. And we went to MUJI after that.
CB Horny Hui, make me spend money on FOOD!

But the food was yummoyummo.

The Mustard Pretzel IS TO DIE FOR can!! I need more for exam snacks next semester. =)

Those Tortilla Chips were much better than whatever shit movie theatres are selling. And definitely better than Dorittos (sp?). But I checked, it's 630++ calories per packet. Too sinful and too much for my heart to bear.
The brown sugar thingy was rubbish though, I took a bite and down the rubbish chute it went.

Lenny disturbed my beauty sleep at around 2pm today and asked me whether I wanted to go to his house for some homemade chicken pie.
Since i didn't eat breakfast AND lunch (because I was a sleeping sloth), I said ok.

Turned out.
.
.
It was chicken paella. Not chicken pie. I'm such a cuckoo. =.=

It was very very nice. I was rather surprised that it turned out so good because usually whatever Lenny makes will be a failure. HAHAHA. The chicken stock was so fragrant. YUMMO!

but no, he didn't stop at that.
He suggested we made QUICHE after that.

Yes....
Quiche.

Lenny trying hard to line the tin with the dough. =) He was such a cuckoo. Initially for 175g of plain flour, he used 175g of unsalted butter. Crazy guy. He saw wrongly; it was supposed to be 115g only. So we had to add more flour to balance everything out.

The bacon was REALLY DELICIOUS!
The crust was super buttery though, I couldn't make it past half a slice. Nice try but maybe not so much butter next time.

HAULS!!

Everyday Minerals (EDM) foundations. I tend to buy sample sizes because they can already last you a long long time. I use them as the foundation for my neck. You don't really want your face to be of a different colour than your neck, do you?

Hauls from G-MARKET Singapore.
I had one more jeggings (jean leggings), but I forgot to take a photo of that! It was 7 bucks by the way.

This shirt was 5.90 I believe.

8.40

8.40

My mom went to China and got me the skully scarf. Lohla went to Taiwan and got me the Mickey scarf. =) Can you believe that the plastic coverings were exactly the same? With same tags some more! HAHA.

This hoodie cost 4.90. The quality is guaguagua, but ohwell, the price is good enough.

I also got 2 singlets from Gmarket for 5 bucks. As in 2 for 5 bucks.

I got it in orangey-red as well.

These were purchased off SGSELLTRADE.
This Cotton On dress cost me 10 bucks.

And this cost me 5 bucks. The reason why I got it was because I don't really have a hot pink shirt. HAHA.

Anyway, the next post will definitely be about:
1. Uniqlo Sale (Thanks Wilsong for the heads-up!)
2. Loreal Beauty Sale (I prepared 150 bucks for this. WOOHOO!)
3. Work-related rantings.

Till then,
TATA! =)

Good luck to Siashangying, Lily and other business people who have yet to finish their papers. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA. =)

everything is going downhill

It is the last day of the barf-inducing examinations. I should be in euphoria, but no.

1. I am having a fever hours before my last paper.
2. I had insomnia for 2 nights in a row, so the situation is my eyelids are drooping but I can't go to sleep.
3. Due to (2), I have migraine now.
4. Which makes me in the ultimate state of sickness before a two-hour-and-a-half paper.
5. I have zero cash because hall 13 has no ATM machine.
6. I just reprimanded an AT for dirtying the pantry.
7. I have memorised ZERO percent of history.
8. My migraine is not letting me memorise anything.
9. I want to bathe but the toilet is full everywhere.
10. I want to sleep badly.

Am I in an excellent condition or what?

hiatus

Not going to blog till 26th November, which is the end of my exams.
Bye world.

I am going to dig a hole and name in Mugging Chute.
Then, I'm going to live inside the hole.
omfg, that makes me sound like Sadako.

I am going to crawl out after the exams to haunt those still studying because their exams unfortunately don't end so early.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

you realise how demented I have become?
This is the result of the Singapore education system that everyone around the world has been singing praises for.

And now, guess what am I doing?
Media accountability and ethics.
Everytime I reach a Cherian George topic I get all serious and then I lose all the fun. This is so unlike Advertising. =(

party all the time.. p-p-party all the time

I have Stephanie Yeo Jun Ting snoring like a pig on my sofa.
I have Melanie Huang SiYing in my room fondling my iPhone.
and then, me myself and I, doing nothing productive but slogging my ass off on my readings.

I need my hall.
Being at home just means sleeping longer, eating more, and generally being a lazy bum.
Home = ultimate nemesis of Mugging Spirit.

I'm 4 days away from my first paper, and I'm not afraid for that subject because I can depend on my good ol' memory.

What I'm really cracking my brains about is the 2 core modules, but mostly 203. Research is done but still in strings and I badly need to stitch them up together. Lecture slides are reluctantly looked through in a touch-bye manner.

I am in such a sloth-y mood now that I find it troublesome to upload photos. So for more updates on Themed Tuesdays: Geek Day + Headgear, proceed to facebook please.

I watched Paranormal Activity with movie guru Wilsong and stone-girl Yinghui.
I must say this is the freakiest show that I have ever watched. Not because of any boring ghost and not because of extremely good plot, just because of the intense built-up that is embedded in you.

For people who are easily affected by horror shows like Shutter, Ju-On and whatnots, which focuses more on scaring the masses using actual ghosts in the show, Paranormal Activity will be a bore. Simply because no demon/ghost makes itself visible in the show.

Only audiences with a flair and liking for horror movies will get intrigued by this show. Horror so subtle that it hits you right in the brain, and it lingers there for quite some time. Such is a horror show that I enjoy. I was almost covering my eyes with my jacket and because of that foolish move, I missed the part where the shadow appeared on the door.

I mean, normal people will just brush this show away as amateur filming with nothing exciting to capture the audience.

But believe me, once you start getting intertwined into the horror business, you start to appreciate even the slightest attempt at making a horror show successful. My favourite part would be the demon pulling Katie away from her bed. That was crazy good. Amateur filming but with such awesome effects.

However, I don't doubt that the ending kinda sucked.
I watched all 3 alternative endings on the net and I prefer the cops version better.

Oh well, the agony of a subtle horror movie trying to get its well-deserved recognition in a lion city full of cynical bastards who demand upfront ghosts to be present in every single horror movie.

self-realisation

I think I see him as a potential target but I think it's not wise.

Seriously, university is currently not my favourite place to be in.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Yes i am tired.

I listed down the things that I have to complete before the exams really start, and I am rather disheartened to say that I have shortage of time and energy.

Readings for 203 have to be re-read.
Readings for History have to be read.
French has to be practiced.
Tens of sets of past examination papers have to be done.
Research for 203 has to be completed and sculpted into shape.

How I wish I have 2 sets of brains: one for core modules and one for electives. All the knowledge I have are diffusing with one another and I have the tendency to get confused.

Another 17 days and my nightmare will be over.

Who says university was easier?
More fun yes.
More crazy yes.
More kinky yes.
More easy hell no.

To juniors reading my blog: I advise you to revise your thoughts on how much you are looking forward to university life. It will stress you out because of the copious amount of work you have to attempt and in the process, you may get rounder and wider, because all the stress is making you lazy and your body refuse to get up and work that butt! (hint: me.)

Ah fuck.
Media law is killing my brain cells. So many codes. The only thing I can remember is the prohibition of the use of cameras or other recording devices on court cases involving victims of rape, sexual abuse, etc. Funny what kind of things my brain chooses to remember eh?

On a positive note:
1. History individual project (2000 words!!) is done and handed in.
2. 205 is over and done with.
3. Ditto French.
4. I have a job for December! WOOHOO!

Going to bathe and then nourish my brain cells with more media law.

Perhaps I should complete celebrity 203 readings today. Well, perhaps....

bad influence from mr wilson ng

Although I have finished my 2000-word History essay, I have yet to embark on French oral practice for tomorrow's oral test. However, I must share the level of commitment that I have to excel in that test; I downloaded a French pronunciation tool into my iPhone. See how committed I am? HAHA.

I have to first get started on the script, which I'm procrastinating badly.

On to finer stuff in life...
As mentioned before in my previous post, I went out to town 2 days ago. Great to be shopping just before crunch time. Gives me the drive to work for what I have bought.

This pair of pants from Forever 21 was 15 bucks. It is retailing at 17.80USD and previously 48 bucks in the Wisma store. I got the last piece and the last piece was a size M. Talk about being lucky. =)

This week, I spent $31 on 3 pairs of shoes. =)
First 2 pairs are from sgflea, 30 bucks for both pairs.
The last pair was $1 from Ebay. I thought it would look old and would be in bad condition; well I was surprised at how comfortable it was.

Another purchase from my trip to ION.
This week, the theme for Themed Tuesday is Headgear+geek. OG wanted to do Headgear, but CI Club suddenly emailed the whole school of Tuesday being Geek Day, so just do both lar. =)
I am so looking forward to Tuesday!!

Another Ebay purchase. 2.90 total.
The pink stick thingy is supposed to help remove facial hair. I tried on my upper lip, and it was darn useful. Worth every single cent.
The black thing is the famous fringe velcro. You slide it through your fringe, and it will stick to your fringe. This way when doing your makeup or your skincare, your fringe won't be in the way. Very useful for people with crazy insane long fringe like me. haha.

My mom went to Robinsons yesterday to buy some winter clothing for her trip to Kunming. Since I stayed home to study, I took the opportunity to write down some stuff for her to buy and took advantage of her willingness to pay for them. HAHA. I am a bad daughter.

So I got the Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner and Loreal Derma Genesis Pore Minimising Smoother Scrub.

Loreal Derma Genesis Pore Minimising Smoother Scrub

This has the consistency of a mask; thick and gooey. It contains micro beads that gently exfoliates your skin. The micro beads are super tiny and hence it's suitable for daily use. This product promises to minimise your pores and even out your skin texture. After the first usage, my skin is visibly smoother and yes some redness on my nose was less pronounced. I have confidence in this product and shall religiously use it. I am waiting for the day when my pores are invisible!!

Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner

Another of my problem - Blackheads, especially on my nose. This product is actually quite satisfactory. It delivers instant cooling sensation and you can feel a slight tightening on your skin. It promises to remove dead skin cells and control excessive oil. I'm not so sure about the oil-controlling thing because I don't really see a difference. However, just the cooling sensation is enough to get me hooked. Though after the first usage, I don't really see much difference to those darned blackheads, but who knows? Definitely a keeper, but they should do something about the smell though. I love tea-tree smell, and most people don't like it. This smells worse than tea-tree, meaning MORE people won't like it! Change the smell!

Back to French! =)

recipe for shiok mocha

If you have any chocolate milk at home, you are in luck.

You need:
1 packet of instant coffee
50ml of boiling hot water
200ml of COLD chocolate milk
100ml of plain water

Just mix the coffee powder well with the hot water first to prevent bubbles of powdered coffee forming, then add the chocolate milk, constantly stirring in the process. and then add the plain water. DELICIOSO! please do not add whipped cream, fattening you know?

MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT PROVENCE SERVED TO ME YESTERDAY NIGHT!
I can open my own shop already!
stupid provence.

torture

Migraine attacks are back.
Once again the realisation of Panadol having no effect on me hits me.
I ate 3 panadols in one go, and my head is still pounding like as if someone is hitting my head like the guitar hero drum set, playing the expert mode.

ARRGHH.

Anyways,
I went out with Kok, Eve, Chay and Ron to get our headgear for themed tuesdays.
I got a steal buy from Forever 21. Pants for 15 bucks! woots!
More some other time?
I'm just updating to ensure you i'm alive and kicking.

Fred Farrugia available at Sephora @ ION Orchard

Fred Farrugia came up with this innovative (yet expensive, imo) gadget. He was the artistic director of Lancome for a decade and I think he's quite good-looking. HAHA.

It's quite chio though, hailed as the "makeup iPod" by Sephora.
Tad expensive. 35 bucks for one kit.

I shall go to Sephora to play around with it, but no, not in the right mind would I purchase it.

desole(sorry)!!

2 reasons on why I didn't keep my promise (to redeem myself=/)
  1. I was very preoccupied with impromptu speech, 205 group presentation and french test.
  2. The camera cable was in hall, and I wasn't back in hall till like 10am this morning.
Although I told Eve that I was on a shoe-nobuy this 2 months so that I can save for Malaysia trip, I cannot skip these 2 shoes pairs. Ebay is once again an awesome shopping haven.

This yellow pair is brand new from Forever 21 and it cost S$0.99. YES! The shipping cost twice as much as the shoe itself. I don't really have a yellow pair of sandals, so why not?

It looks kind of nice though. I thought it will look too kiddish, but I guess when something's that cheap, you will find every way out there to convince you of the good things that others can't really see. My sister is in love with it though.

Kappa flats from Ebay as well. This is brand new as well, costing 5 bucks. ooh la la. No postage as I met up with the buyer. AMAZING! =)

I have been getting a lot of questions on how to find cheap deals on Ebay. Well here are some tips:
  • Search for "clearance"/"sale" in Clothing, Shoes and Accessories.
  • Search for anything under the sun, but set the settings (the icon to your right) to "Price:lowest first"
  • If you see sellers starting brand new stuff at S$0.99, save them under your faourite sellers. They will add in more items and the reason why they can sell at such a low price is because they have direct contacts with the manufacturer.
  • Check Ebay religiously. Sellers list new items every single day.
Basically that's what I do in Ebay. So far, no bad experience!

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDD

MEET MY NEW GADGET!!! THE iPHONE! =)
I LOVE MY MOM! SHE PAID FOR THIS!!!! =)

Touching on a topic that is more grave and ominous-looking: my grades.
Only four words: so far so good.

History Essay: B+
UCT mini test: 72 (should be A-/B+)
205 individual speeches: A-

I must say I am rather blessed. Nuff said.

MY SKINCARE ROUTINE

I remove my make-up with:
Fancl Cleansing Oil (left a few drops: on eyes)
Maybelline Total Clean (bought to replace Fancl: on eyes)
The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner (face)

Cleanser-wise, I alternate between around 5 brands, because I have a lot of samples. I can't really remember the exact names, but the brands are SK2, Biotherm, Garnier, Biore and the new green anti-acne one from Watson.

Moisturisers:
Garnier Pure (face)
ZA True White Emulsion (neck)
Garnier Pure A (face)

Mask/Gel:
Yes TO Carrot Eye Can C Clearly Now eyecream
Laneige Water Sleeping Pack (face and neck)

I use different products in hall, because I cannot move my whole room to hall, so I have to select a few.

OXYCover
Loreal Pure Zone moisturiser
Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Mist

Basically that's all! =)
I have to turn in now due to a 2-hour sleep the night before. Super chui now.

Grandma and grandpa coming soon, Wednesday to be exact. I am going back home to be a filial grand-daughter. WOOHOO!

On the agenda:
- paparazzi dinner tomorrow night
- ci club + ad hoc potluck dinner at ADM
