Review: Sleek Pout Polish in Electric Peach

Huiling recently did a callout to people who wanted to join a Sleek Makeup spree and I jumped at the chance because I wanted to try Sleek stuff other than their eyeshadow palettes.

I ordered the blush in PanTao and Rose Gold as well, but sadly both were out of stock apparently, or the spree-er forgot about my order, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. In conclusion, I only received one Sleek item, which is the Pout Polish in Electric Peach.

The Pout Polish is currently available on the site in these 11 colours:

Bonaire (limited edition, I think. It's a straightforward orange.)
Raspbery Rhapsody (Deep fluorescent purple)
Frosting (Baby pink, very powder-ish colour)
Peach Perfection (Light coral, just like a cup of tomato milkshake)
Electro Peach (striking fluorescent orange)
Monte Carlo (limited edition, I think. A deep plum colour)
Pink Cadillac (full blown fluorescent pink)
Chocolate Kiss (well.. it's milk chocolate in colour. Very aptly named)
Perfect Plum (a deep reddish-plum colour, maroon-ish under certain lights)
Powder Pink (the perfect Barbie pink colour)
Scandal (a taupey red colour, somehow it looks like the colour that every office lady will love)

Here is a product photo that I grabbed from the website!

When I chose which colour to purchase, I decided not to be save and buy the expected and usual pinks; I wanted an adventure, so I chose Electric Peach.

When I received it, I admit I was a little bit intimidated by the brightness of the Pout Polish.

It is VERY BRIGHT. BLINDINGLY BRIGHT. I was so scared that I will look like a clown after application.

Being the very confused person that I am, I was still extremely enticed by this explosion of brightness. I love bright colours and it makes me happy seeing them!

Under flash, it even looks like highlighter orange! Such a difficult colour to pull off? NOPE NOT AT ALL!

Sleek Pout Polish is a tinted lip conditioner, hence it is not as pigmented as a normal lipstick.

After one swipe on my hand, the colour did not look as intimidating as before. It looks extremely wearable!

With flash.

After blending, under flash.

After blending, the colour faded further into a reasonably wearable light orange tint. It gives that very little hint of colour that brightens up your face, and I love the pout polish because of this factor.

Moreover, it is extremely moisturising for the lips! Always good to have a lip balm around! Men, and other women, do love a smooth, supple lip. WHO LOVES CRACKED LIPS? NO ONE.

You can control the glossiness factor easily by applying more than one layer for extreme glossy and wet look, or just stick to one swipe for a nourishing boost complete with an additional burst of colour.

One negative thing though, the pout polish can get a little dry after a good 2 hours or so, so be sure to diligently touch it up because when it dries up, your lips can get a little bit cracked as well. (No idea why, it just happened to me and I was bewildered)

I am now so enticed to get all the other colours!! :D
