Review: Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion

When I received the email to review the Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion, I was frankly on the fence. Not because I heard bad things about the brand, but because my skin wasn't (and currently also still is not) in the condition to test out new facial products. As I read on, I realised it wasn't just for the face, it can be used on the body too! That part intrigued me - a CC lotion useable on the body? Ok. Let's give it a go!

The Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion retails for S$29.00 (30ml) or S$49.00 (100ml)

Before I continue with my review, let me explain a little on my skin condition. Ever since 2-3 weeks ago, my skin has been acting up and I have a lot of painful pimples around my jaw area (obvious indication of a hormonal imbalance or pre-menstrual syndrome). I did not want to risk worsening my condition. Moreover, there was a caution written on the label as to "not use on sensitive or irritated skin". Not testing the product on my face was a blessing on disguise though because I wouldn't have thought a CC Lotion would work so well on the body!

Ingredients list
The 11 short and sweet claims: whitening, purifying, repairing, firming, smoothing, soothing, hydrating, toning, anti-aging, sun-screen protection and being water-proof.

The most interesting feature of the product is the trademarked term "lasertox" - so fancy right? So what exactly is this "lasertox" technology?

"It's a functional treatment methodology that brings you targeted treatment to improve on specific concerns, by adopting the laser technology. This laser technology reinforces efficient penetration of the natural beauty essences into the skin's dermis layer."

Basically, using a laser method of focusing penetration on a target area to purify (detox) the skin layers for better absorption of the essence. Laser + Detox = Lasertox™!

The Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion:

  • promises to give you one tone lighter whitening effect instantaneously.
  • is enriched with diamond powder - instant glow after application
  • is enriched with wild rosehip extract - source of powerful antioxidant, prolongs skin youthfulness
  • has sunscreen factor of SPF30/PA++
  • is light on skin and colorant & paraben free
  • does not clog pores
  • leaves skin smoother and more moisturised without stickiness and oily shine
As with all BB and CC products, there are a lot of claims that need to be tested out.

Packaging: The box and the product are both in this gorgeous and mesmerizing holographic hue. I may sound crazily biased, but please ah, I'm a holographic freak, you give me a product packaged totally in holographic awesomeness, confirm two thumbs up from me! The first time I received this in the mail, I was a bit pissed because the mail was in a bad condition, hence denting the product box. Then I saw the holographic magic in full effect and I forgot my displeasure with Singpost. I just sat on bed and admired the product for a good minute or so. So pretty leh!

Texture: The Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion has a texture that is like a cross between a thick night cream and a mousse-like eye cream. Not heavy at all and very smooth. Once blended out, the texture becomes a little bit more runny and patchy.

Application: When the Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion is applied, there's this extremely pleasant instant cooling effect. The product blends out quite patchily but it will eventually blend out to a smooth and even finish. It just takes slightly longer than other similar products.

Whitening effect: I was highly skeptical about this claim so I put it to the ultimate test. I didn't capture my test in photos, but here's what I did - I applied the Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion on my right leg and right arm, and then around 5 minutes, I tried to see if there were any differences in skin tone under different lighting. To be really honest, the difference in skin tone varies according to body parts. The difference is more prominent when I compared the darker parts like the elbow and the knee. So yes, if you are concerned about your elbows and knees, this may be a good solution.

Actually in the photo below, you can somewhat see the difference (comparing to the first photo of my hand).

The best thing about this is there's no white cast even though it's packed with SPF30 and I took this photo with flash. That's always a plus in my books! No more ghost-face disaster!

Overall thoughts: I wasn't able to test out the Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion on my face, so that's a bummer. However, I love applying it on my body in the mornings, especially right after shower. It's like instant aircon for 2-3 minutes. Super shiok. :D

Ok ok, other than the temperature gratification, the CC lotion does not leave a sticky feeling and it dries to a complete matte almost instantaneously. This will of course vary according to how much product you actually use, but at the end of the day, you don't feel that eeky sticky sensation and you won't feel like the product is melting under the hot Singapore sun. The essence is absorbed entirely and you don't even feel like you have anything applied!

Will I buy it again? When I'm feeling rich, I will buy it again. As of now with my successful HDB BTO balloting, I need to seriously reprioritise my finances. Maybe I will use the Klarity Lasertox™ CC Miracle White Lotion sparingly now and once my bonus comes in at the end of the year, I will get more!

Hopefully this has been a useful read! Have a great Saturday! :)

iPrice Coupons Singapore - Get your online shopping coupons & codes here!

I'm no stranger to online shopping; I'm actually quite the online shopping addict. I have days (I'm sure many of you can relate!) whereby I feel really tired and stressed out at work, and I decide to explore the various dangerous online shopping sites. Most of the time, I will end up carting and checking out something. It's a terrible habit to advocate, but this post is dedicated in telling all you online shopaholics how to save some money!

I was approached by iPrice Coupons Singapore for a blog collaboration and after I browsed the website, I knew I would need to share this with my readers! A quick disclaimer - I was approached by iPrice Coupons Singapore by email to share the website in my blog, but nope, I was not paid to intentionally rave about the website. All opinions are of my own and I genuinely like the website! Can save money le, of course must share right!

iPrice Coupons is already available in other Asian markets like Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong, and I'm so glad that it has finally landed on the red tiny dot!

With this site, you can also browse through their shop that carries a lot of famous labels internationally and locally. You can search for River Island, Mango and more. Not only that, you will be notified if there are any deals or promotions going on which relate to the brands that you like!

Because I online shop so much, I always try to find discount coupons and codes to at least save some money. I find my codes/coupons either by googling them before I check out, or I subscribe to an online shop's mailing list and I will get notified in my inbox.

The problem is blindly searching for a working and authentic code on Google is quite a challenging task. There was one time I tried 10+ codes on ASOS and in the end I bought my stuff without any codes, AND THEN THE NEXT DAY ASOS GAVE ME A MAILING LIST EXCLUSIVE CODE. =_=

Also, I subscribed to A LOT of online shopping website and sometimes my inbox is flooded with various emails from these sites. I usually delete them on a daily basis and in the process of deleting, I may have missed a code or two.

That's why iPrice Coupons Singapore is a great website - it compiles all the coupon codes for various web-stores like Zalora, Luxola and Zuji. You have the access to all these codes in one site and it's really saving a lot of time; no more googling and trying out various codes for these web stores!

For example, you have the various available (and authentic) coupons for Zalora. Each code comes with an expiration date, which is a nifty touch.

And some codes for Luxola. Luxola is my guilty pleasure haha, so yay can save money on my next purchase!

There are two types of codes/coupons that you can get. First is the codes that you have to enter when checking out. In iPrice Coupons Singapore, these are indicated by the blue "Get The Code" buttons. When you click one, you will be prompted with the code that you can copy paste on the check-out page.

Second is orange "Go To Offer" button. This one will bring you straight to the web store. For example, Zalora had a specific sale for Mango. So when you click the orange button...

... Zalora's page will pop up on a new tab, specifically for the Mango items that are on sale! Hence, even if you are not on Zalora's mailing list, you're still informed on the various sales that they have!

iPrice Coupons Singapore proves to be quite useful for my many impulse online shopping adventures. They are currently adding more and more stores to their list and I'm excited for the future discounts that I can get! HEH. #onlineshopaholicforever

Do check out the website and hopefully you can get additional discounts on your purchases! :) Have a great weekend guys!!

Review: Lovemore Glacier Water Soothing Mask

[Disclaimer: This mask was sent to me for review purposes. However, all opinions are of my own and unbiased.]

The kind people at Secretive.sg contacted me once again to review the new masks that they have in their online store. I asked for masks that will be suitable for oily and acne prone skin and they sent me the Lovemore Glacier Water Soothing Mask, which was targeted at revitalizing and clarifying the skin for a clearer complexion. I certainly wanted a clearer complexion (don't we all?), so I was excited to try this mask out.

The Lovemore Glacier Water Soothing Mask comes in a box of 5 and the box retails for S$13.90. The Lovemore Water Beauty Series also comes in two other variations - the Thermal Water Brightening Mask and the Deep Sea Water Hydrating Mask.

The one thing that I have consistently enjoyed from Lovemore masks is their "pure silk mask" material. The material is delicate and quite flimsy (to the point where a slightly harder pull will tear the mask apart), but that's how the essence gets absorbed into the skin more efficiently. I was really happy that this particular mask has the same material too!

If you have oily/combination skin that's acne prone, I will suggest staying away from masks that promise extra hydration or extra brightening effects. Sometimes these types of masks will contain ingredients that will aggravate the overproducing-oil-glands situation and you will end up with oilier skin. This will lead to pores getting clogged up more easily, and hence causing your skin to be even more acne-prone. I know not all of such masks will cause such an effect, but it's good to be mindful and cautious. Use masks that are suitable for your skin type to minimize such risks.

Some of the great ingredients for oily/combination skin will be tea tree and aloe vera. I swear by these two ingredients. A mask that contains these ingredients will help to treat your current skin situation and help to prevent future problems.

The Lovemore Glacier Water Soothing Mask also contains AC.NET, which is a sebum-controlling agent and will help to regulate the oil production. It also has natto in it, Natto is famous in Japan for beautiful skin so it's a great addition!

As with all Lovemore pure silk masks, the steps to using the mask is more complicated than usual masks, but it's definitely not rocket science.

When you first take the mask out, you will see the three layers of the mask: the white plastic sheet cover, the blue protective sheet and the almost invisible actual mask sheet in between the two.

You first remove the white plastic sheet, and then you fit the mask on your face. You don't need to fit it to a T because you're going to remove the blue non-woven sheet carefully afterwards.

You have to be extra careful when removing the blue non-woven sheet. I almost removed the mask itself too. The easiest way is to remove it from the forehead and then just slowly pull the blue layer away.

As you can see from the photo below, the actual mask is really really thin and delicate.

I have used this mask twice this week and I have yet to see any improvements in terms of skin clarifying. Both applications have been enjoyable though. It's also worth mentioning that the thinness of the mask actually helps to ensure a less messy application. Usually with the usual masks, you will have essence dripping everywhere, but the Lovemore Glacier Water Soothing Mask has none of that.

Another thing that I liked is how fast the essence is absorbed into the skin. It's usually recommended for users to leave their masks on for a good 15-25 minutes. Some masks will still be wet and choked full of goodness even after 25 minutes - you don't even know if anything has been absorbed to your skin or not! The Lovemore Glacier Water Soothing Mask, on the other hand, does not have this problem. After 20 minutes, the mask will start to turn into a damp thin white cloth - an indication that the essence has been almost fully absorbed by the skin.

The easy application and unique mask sheet material definitely make me want to continue using the mask. 3 more to go! :)

Hope this review has been useful for you! Have a great Easter weekend guys! :)

Review: But, Becky Age-Lock & Moisturizing Wild Yam Mask

[Disclaimer: This mask set was sent to me for review purposes. However, all opinions are of my own and not purposely written more positively/more negatively because the product was sent to me.]

With the widespread popularity of Taiwanese masks among Singaporeans, it is of no surprise that we have yet another new brand of masks coming in from Taiwan! The But, Becky masks! :)

Secretive has very nicely sponsored me the But, Becky Age-Lock & Moisturizing Wild Yam Mask set and it's quite lucky for me to have receive the Anti-Ageing version because I think I desperately need intense Anti-Ageing products!! Old already!!

The But, Becky Age-Lock & Moisturizing Wild Yam Mask set contains 8 masks and retails for S$14.90 at selected Watsons stores.

The But, Becky masks are endorsed by Aaron Yan (Yan Ya Lun of Fahrenheit). Plus points there simply because there's a handsome guy endorsing the brand. :D

I really appreciate brands that take those extra steps in assuring their customers. In this case, it's clearly written that the masks are oil-free and non-comedogenic, hence for those with troubled skin and easily irritated skin, you can be assured that this mask will minimise the chances of you getting a bad reaction.

As with all masks, the application process is easy and quick. It's quite enticing to leave the mask on for more than 15 minutes. Some people even sleep with the mask still on their faces! It's advisable that you refrain from doing so because by sleeping with your mask on, it increases the likelihood of you getting premature wrinkles! Also, masks that contain glycolic acid should not be left on the face for longer than the recommended time because leaving it on for too long can cause skin irritation!

The But, Becky masks are all designed for Asian skin and while refreshing your skin, the masks also help to lift your skin through its double woven mask sheet design (complete with ear hooks).

Ingredients List

The But, Becky Age-Lock & Moisturizing Wild Yam Mask contains Vitamin C and E, and also wild yam that's amazing for delaying ageing process! Hooray to wild yam!

The mask also promises:
  • to help with sebum regulation
  • to keep skin hydrated

Other varieties of the But, Becky masks.

Mask sheet: It's made of a woven material, and hence it's highly stretchable, which means the mask will be able to fit itself onto the contour of anyone's face. However, one difficulty I had after application is after I hooked the ear-hooks on my ears, it gets quite difficult to get rid of the air bubbles without compromising other parts. As can be seen from the application photos above, some air bubbles were still present and hence the product was not fully absorbed by the skin at some parts.

Mask smell: My sister said it smelled really bad, while I thought the smell was really herbal and pleasant. I guess it can go two ways: either you love the smell or you hate it. There's no "ok lah" here because the mask really smells like wild yam, in a herbal and medicinal sort of way. There's no floral bits or fruity whiffs, it's all herbal, and that's why I love it so much! Some masks have overpowering floral scents that bring me to migraine hell. The But, Becky Age-Lock & Moisturizing Wild Yam Mask has that herbal smell that soothes you and that gives you the impression that it's going to work!

Absorption rate: This is a stellar mask when it comes to how fast my skin absorbed the liquid goodness. I don't know how the chemistry behind it works, but I'm quite sure the molecules that made up the liquid are really really really tiny molecules. After I removed the mask, all the essence was absorbed into my skin within 5 minutes. I had dry, smooth skin afterwards! No more sticky mess! YAY!

Does it work? Since I received the set, I have used the But, Becky Age-Lock & Moisturizing Wild Yam Mask for a total of 4 times, and it did not irritate my skin or break me out, so I'm a happy reviewer! :) Hydrating-wise, the But, Becky mask does its job well, and I think it's a good mask to put on after a really long day at work or in school. Whether or not it helps to delay ageing will have to be confirmed after continuous usage over a long period of time, so I cannot guarantee that this But, Becky mask will delay ageing.

However, over-all, it's a good mask to have and it's so affordable too! S$14.90 for 8!

Review: Lovemore FROM Taiwan Masks

[Disclaimer: This mask was sent to me for review purposes. However, all opinions are of my own and not purposely written more positive/more negative because the product was sent to me.]

mySecretive.sg sent me one more set of masks, and this blogpost is all about the Lovemore FROM Taiwan Masks

I was sent four different varieties, each targeting a certain improvement you want your skin to have:
  1. Wine Yeast Whitening Mask
  2. Loofah & Aloe Vera Hydrating Mask
  3. Pearl Barley & Milk Smoothing Mask
  4. Mountain Tea Polyphenols Moisturizing Mask
At first I thought this mask was going to be the normal kind of masks which everyone is already familiar to and hence more difficult to pinpoint its brilliance and downfalls.

I thought wrong.

Let's start with the Wine Yeast Whitening Mask. This mask is good for:
  • whitening effect
  • youthful complexion

The Loofah & Aloe Vera Hydrating Mask is good for:
  • giving your skin a boost of deep hydration
  • repairing and refining your skin texture

The Pearl barley & Milk Smoothing Mask is good for:

  • getting that baby-soft skin
  • whitening effect
  • firming and smoothing properties

The Mountain Tea Polyphenols Moisturizing Mask is good for:

  • keeping your skin moist all day long
  • anti-oxidizing effects
  • diminishing visible pores

The first mask that I decided to try was the Mountain Tea Polyphenols Moisturizing Mask simply because I was extremely attracted to its anti-oxidizing properties claim.

When I opened the mask, I was quite shocked to see the blue tint. I thought wow, this was going to be a completely different mask!

But actually, the blue sheet acts as a protection to the extremely delicate mask and also as an applicator so that you won't risk tearing the mask during application.

So here's how you use this mask:

  1. Remove it from the packaging.
  2. Making sure that the blue side is attached to the actual mask, apply the duo mask side first.
  3. After adjusting the position of your mask, remove the blue sheet
  4. Voila! You have applied the delicate mask on your face successfully (I hope haha)!

Mask design: The mask itself is made out of this really filmsy and delicate material. It felt like as if it's going to tear with the slightest force applied on it. Hence, I really liked the idea of the blue sheet as a helping hand.

Application: It gets quite tricky because I have never used a mask this way before, but after I removed the blue sheet, it was quite certain that the blue sheet is there for a reason, and not just for some gimmick purpose. Do use a light hand when you are adjusting though because it tears quite easily.

Fragrance: This has an extremely soothing smell. Nothing too strong, but its presence is there. I actually liked the smell a lot!

Does it deliver what it promised? Yes, and no.

Yes, because I can really feel my skin choking up with hydration goodness and I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me or not, but the pores near my nose area were visibly reduced in size! Perhaps it was a momentary thing, but it was an extremely welcome after-effect.

No, because well you can't really judge a mask's anti-oxidizing properties just through one application, can you?

My mantra with masks will be to not expect too much after one application. Mask sheets like these are great for moisturizing and anti-dull properties, but anti-aging/anti-oxidizing/anti-blemishes properties require multiple applications.

In all, it's a unique mask that delivers, so everyone should try it! :)
