Sacha & Sons (Mandarin Gallery)

So much hype over this location. Sacha & Sons is opened by the founders of Wild Honey. I love Wild Honey (a bit pricey but delicious food) and so I was really excited to be able to finally try some New York deli food.

Every time I write a post about food, I get a little fearful of what my readers will think about it. For one, I'm terrible at describing food. But aiyah, whatever, I don't call myself a food blogger. Most of my food posts are for my own future usage. Of course, if the posts helped my readers as well, that's an added bonus!

Yes... back to Sacha & Sons...

It was a great night with amazing company. We have known each other for more than 10 years already! I've known Ruiping since my first day in secondary school, and she was the first person I talked to as she sat in front of me and I needed to borrow a pen (where got people forgot to bring pencil case on first day of secondary school right?! I was damn fail haha). I knew Leonard and Kengyang in secondary two but got closer in secondary three. Then this Kengyang became my boyfriend lah. :P

As expected, we over ordered. Goodness gracious me. So much food, but miraculously, WE FINISHED THEM ALL! Our tummies really incredibly elastic. Some more after this we went for dessert?!!

Sacha & Sons takes pride in their smoked pastrami, so all our dishes had some smoked pastrami incorporated. Kengyang had the Classic Pastrami Sandwich, and he regretted ordering the larger size because there was way too much meat. #firstworldproblems

Leonard got a Grilled Reuben Sandwich and portion was equally scary. He ordered the regular size leh! Still so much meat. Worth your money and your tummy space.

Ruiping and I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and we were a bit underwhelmed because it was severely lacking in flavour. We had to add lots of salt. But well, we didn't mind one bit because the dish came with killer bagels. OH MY GOD, the bagels here are so good. No matter how full we were, we had to finish the bagels because they were delightful. Super crispy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. They retained this amazing texture even 1 hour into the dinner. I will definitely come back again and again and again and again for the bagels.

We should have stopped at 4 mains, but hur hur hur, we added a dips platter to share.

My favourite was a combination of the smoked salmon, herb cream cheese and moroccan carrot all layered in that order on top of the heavenly bagels. *heart eyes emoji*

The dill pickles were also quite something. I normally will skip on pickles because some are really way too sweet. But these were tart and pleasantly sour. I love them!

Then ya, like as if not full enough, we went to Dolce Tokyo at 313 for some sweet treats. This bento was a complete fail. Looked good, but tasted average. The carrot cake had too much cinnamon and the panna cotta was tasteless. zzz.

Can't wait for our next food hunt! :D

Ending this post with a collage of photos taken by Leonard. I don't know what I was doing!!
