Review: Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in #01 Strawberry Mousse

Finally, I'm down to reviewing the Etude House items that I got from the recent Etude House Warehouse Sale. This post will be about the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in #01 Strawberry Mousse and I'm sorry, but I kinda hate this. :S

Before we start on the negativity, let's get the details in.

Normal retail price: S$12.90
Sale price: S$5

You can get this on Qoo10 for S$7.50 (excluding S$1.50 Korea Normal Mail fee): http://list.qoo10.sg/item/ETUDE-HOUSE-LOVELY-COOKIE-BLUSHER/401372262

NOW ONTO THE REVIEW...

Packaging: Very cutesy and princessy. I'm not really fond of the dome-shaped packaging because it fits weirdly in my makeup bag. I prefer a flat packaging when it comes to blushers and bronzers. Nevertheless, it's cute and it stands out from all my other blushers.

Brush: Instead of a brush, Etude House included a cushion-like puff, topped with a pink ribbon. It's cute lah I know but the functionality of this is close to none. I'm sorry if I offend a lot of Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher fans here but really what's the point of a puff when #1 you cannot a proper grip and #2 you either apply way too much or you apply way too little. I actually have another similar blusher from another brand and after less than 10 applications, the pink bow was detached and I have no other proper grip for a more controlled application! I'm waiting to see when this pink bow will be detached but then again I don't think that will happen because I'm not going to use it ever again.

Ingredients List

Colour: #01 Strawberry Mousse is a matte pale pink. It's supposed to be a strawberry colour but I have never seen a strawberry (or strawberry mousse) so pale. Strawberry foam, yes maybe.

Pigmentation: This will be great on porcelain skin. Or generally people with REALLY pale skin. Only then will you see the pink hue. To be honest, this is relatively pigmented for a matte blusher. So yes, it's good if you are blessed with pale skin.

Application: I tried two ways - with the given puff and with a brush. Application with the puff was a nightmare. I swirled and then applied the puff gently on my cheeks and immediately I'm greeted by my reflection that had too-white cheeks. NOT GLAM. Ok, so I thought maybe it's my mistake, let's use a brush! WRONG. I used a brush and I barely saw ANY colour. So I either looked too white or I looked like I had no blusher on. NOT GLAM x2. It's also too white to act as a highlighter. I tried to use it sparingly on my upper cheek area and it only looked like I have two white stripes. Aiyoh, I really don't like this product.

Longevity: No review on this because I immediately topped it up with a proper blusher and bronzer.

Will I buy it again? Not really. The other shades look pretty and all, but the packaging itself is not to my liking. I also detest the puff so NEXT BLUSHER PLEASE.

Once again I must reiterate, if you are a fan of this blusher, good for you! It's really rare for me to hate a product and this is one of those rare moments. I admit it's also partly because I chose the wrong shade for myself but hey this review is BASED on this wrong shade. So if you are a fan, please take this post with  pinch of salt and ignore the post. THANKSSS.

Have a great Tuesday guys! Such an amazing rainy day. Singapore is not hot today!! :D
