Yes, I'm quite fine actually.

Amazing how one month of putting things into perspectives can have such a tremendous effect on your well-being. I definitely recommend a good run every single day to organise the day's thoughts and slot them into the correct compartments. Or perhaps a good five minutes every day to reflect on what you have done, praise yourself on what you have done well, tell yourself to improve on what you have done and failed, and then think through what you need to do the next day.

A rather lengthy process, but it helps it making things "right".

One full month of reflection boils down to one jarring itch - I need to stop thinking so much about things that don't really need thinking.

I will not go into details because that will be too taxing on the readers, just so you know, I'm doing quite fine actually.

And wow, what's with this blogger revamp? It's kind of neat to have facebook, twitter and google+ all included at the end of every post; makes it easy to share my posts, hehehehehehe.

And to remind myself of my goal - by the end of June 2012, I need to have lost 7kg from January's weight. An update - I'm 4kg away from my goal. HOORAY.

It's good to be back and to be writing about anything under the sun. I'm still on internship and I'm still persevering through the immense research tasks that I have to complete every week. It's good experience and I'm hoping to extend my contract (my manager was rather happy when she heard that I could extend my contract to end of July), but of course I need to discuss the pay because what I'm getting now is PEANUTS.

The feeling of blogging again is a ... relieved one. Now that I have my focus and my goals back into place, I can divert my attention to appropriate places again. YAY TO BLOGGING! :)

Review: China Glaze 989 Skyscraper

This nail polish has very rapidly become my favourite nail polish from China Glaze. A pain to remove but oh-so-pretty on the nails!

It's China Glaze in 989 Skyscraper (I feel like belting out the raspy Demi Levato number now. HEHE).

Look at the shimmering silver and emerald blue glitters atop the midnight blue foundation. I CANNOT EVEN.

It's not a good nailpolish to have when you go out and socialise - you end staring at your nails and people will see you as a loner loser.

BUT OH SO NICEEEEEE.

And the love-hate relationship with glitter nailpolish continues...

Review: Bio-Gold Collagen Facial Mask

Not too long ago, I went for a facial at SkinHub (they called me and asked me to try their new facial "innovation" and gave me a special price of S$38), and after the session, the lady was extremely nice and gave us (Chay Teng and I went together) this Bio-Gold Collagen Facial Mask.

They tried to get us to sign exorbitant facial packages but both of us didn't, and so it was really rather nice of the lady to give us free masks despite us being asshole customers.

It's a rather queer mask. Originally I thought that the gold was just on the packaging, but ohdearno, the entire mask was in gold! Such extravagance! :D

The mask is "formulated with pure gold, natural bio-ingredients and hydrating compounds to deliver to you a more refined, younger looking skin".

Some benefits of gold on the skin:

• slows down the skin's collagen depletion and elastic breakdown
• stimulates cellular regrowth at the basal layer to regenerate
• combats damaging free radicals
• stabilizes skin immunity
• rehydrates skin
• improves skin elasticity, thus reducing the appearance of premature aging

Above information compiled from a quick Google session (in case anyone wants to be anal and accuse me of blindly copying from their source ONLY =.=).

I had no idea gold can be so beneficial for the skin! Gold in my mind will always be the one in jewellery, I guess I have to broaden my horizon, huh?

Ingredients: Nano-active gold, bone collagen, placenta extract, flavanoids, aloe extract, ginkgo extract, victoria C, victoria E, hydroclauric acid and rose essential oil.

I was quite shocked when I opened the packaging; THE ENTIRE MASK WAS GOLD! And this mask is unlike other sheet masks. Instead of drenching a sheet in essence, this mask has a jelly-like texture, and even though it was floating on the essence, I have no idea how it absorbs the liquid. Perhaps the sheet is made of a porous material, I don't know...

One thing I hated is the really unnecessarily excessive packaging. The moment I opened and took out the mask, a waterfall of essence came gushing out, and it soiled my blanket. =.=

When I applied it on my face, the first thing that I noticed was how cooling the sensation was. And this sensation was ongoing for the first 5 minutes. Quite bizzare because they don't have menthol/mint/tea-tree/any product that induce the cooling sensation stated in the ingredient list.

Nevertheless, that sensation was very much welcome on my highly-fatigued skin.

I actually laughed out really loud after i applied it on, and messed up the mask till I had to reapply it. I sent my bf a picture of the mask on, and he said I looked like a Buddha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I also think that there is a very high resemblance! :D

Did it work?

In my delusional mind, yes.

I'm quite sure that this mask needs to be regularly applied for a certain period of time (normally 4 weeks) before any constructive results start to show.

However, I was biased because of how lavish this mask is. :P It's cooling, my skin felt smooth afterwards, I had my dosage of laughter and it smelled quite good! Nothing major to complain about except for the horrible packaging.

To be honest, I don't even know if this will work on my skin in the long run. But for now, it's a two-thumbs-up from me JUST BECAUSE IT'S GOLD AND AWESOME.

I just lost 2000 points of credibility there. Ho-hum.

Review: Benico 3D Sheet Mask

You know you won't keep your wallets shut when you are waiting for friends in Watsons. I recently bought MORE MASKS to try just because they looked interesting. =P

This Benico 3D Sheet Mask retails for S$2 at Watsons.

The cool thing about it is that they have 2 different main types of masks - heating masks and cooling masks.

This means you either use them while they're hot (dip in warm water, etc) or cold (refrigerate for 5 minutes or so). Obviously, those that come in warm colours are meant to be used hot, and those that come in cool colours are meant to be used cold (like duh!).

Of course you can use the masks at room temperature! Just that the effectiveness may be enhanced when you tamper with the temperature of the essence!

I'm reviewing the Benico 3D Sheet Mask in Aloe in this post, and it's meant for skin elasticity.

What intrigued me the most were these points:

• made of 100% Pulp Fabric
• tailored with a specialised 3D cutting to enable the mask to adhere closely to the contours of your face.

Before I opened the package I had no idea what it meant by "specialised 3D cutting", hence I was rather excited to use the mask!

And yes, I did use the mask cold, as suggested. It was a good move as it calms my very tired skin. I think I'm going to refrigerate my masks before using them in the future! :)

The mask itself is VERY thin, and it's very well-soaked with the essence; so well-soaked that I poured half the essence out of the packet. =.=

Here's the interesting part!

The mask is actually attached in the middle (I don't know how else to describe this) and what you do is to open up the mask and fit it accordingly to your face. Because of this "attachment", you are supposed to be able to fit the mask to the awkward curves on your face, like your chin area, your nose, etc. I think what the company wanted to do was to tackle the problems faced when using normal masks - not fitting on some parts of the face that may be the parts that some individuals want to tackle.

So did it work? No, I don't think so.

It's not a very easy task to do because it tears way too easily, and I don't think it fits the contours of my face that superbly also. =S

To show you what I meant by "attachment", here's a photo of the mask on my big nose.

It's actually kind of annoying because instead of fitting on the contours, it bulges out instead and those parts were not covered by the mask. Also, notice that I tore the mask just below my nose. It tears too easily! Such fragility irks me seriously. =.=

But, did it deliver its claims?

Yes and no.

The positive thing was it was a really refreshing mask to use. My skin really did feel smooth after application and the essence was well-absorbed into my skin after I removed the mask. No sticky aftermath, which is always good.

The frustrating thing is that actually I think it breaks me out even more. The morning after I applied this mask, I had 2 new pimples (not that I need anymore, eh?) and they were at places where I never had pimples before. WHAT IS THIS HUH?!

Bad design, so-so effects. Thank goodness I didn't buy the entire box.

Yes I'm going crazy over Big Bang's new album. It has been on loop for 2 days, AND I'M STILL NOT TIRED OF IT. GAH SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COMEBACK ALBUM.

And a very strong one, especially after that hoohah of a disastrous 2011 for them.

Necklaces first!

This was my most expensive purchase at S$9.90, but I'm definitely happy with the quality! Such good workmanship for under TEN BUCKS?!?!

This will look perfect with all-buttoned-up collar shirts. I CAN'T WAIT TO STYLE THIS. :D

I bought all these rings for S$1.90 each. It's certainly a pigs-flew moment, because you certainly cannot find such AWESOME quality rings for under S$2!! BRAND NEW SOME MORE! Gosh.

I spotted the stud bonanza ring at Forever 21 for S$13, and I only spent S$2. HEEHEE. :))

I can kill someone with this ring.

This is the only ring that I was disappointed with. It's made with cheap metal, those that will rust very quickly kind. Oh well, can't expect much heh?

A very hectic week (OOTDs for PI Week 9!)

My body finally gave way and I could no longer hold back the fatigue. It's quite alarming that in the past 9 weeks of internship, I fell sick for almost 6 weekends. I don't know how to explain it fully (excuseme, I'm not a doctor here), but things get dandy once Monday starts, and then everything goes downhill once Friday approaches, and by things I mean my immune system and all this virus shit.

BF told me to go for checkups but I'm honestly quite scared. What if they find out I have some terrible fatal disease that cannot be cured forever? Dramatic, yes, but still possible.

I'm just going to wait for my mom to come back from Indo and decide what to do then. YES SHE WENT BACK TO INDO WITHOUT TELLING ME, AGAIN!!

I think taking OOTD photos in the office toilet is a much better alternative than at home.

Review: Sexylook Sexy Doll Mask

More and more Taiwanese mask brands are coming out and I can't wait to get my hands on all of them because their packagings are all so nice!

The latest one that I purchased to try was the Sexylook Sexy Doll Mask. Sexylook is a mask brand that popularises the brainwave of a duo face+neck mask, so of course I was excited for this!

This retails for S$2/piece at Watsons!

Their current spokesperson now is Aisha, a Japanese who made it big in Taiwan (NO THAT IS NOT MAKIYO!).

I bought the Intensive Energizing and Luminous Silk Mask.

It promises to:

• "reveal a luminous and translucent skin"
• "enhance anti-aging efficacies"
• and "brighten your face instantly"

Sounds like a dream? Maybe not to me. READ ON...

Ingredient list for the paranoid ones.

There are only 3 good things about this mask:

1. The expiry date is stated CLEARLY. Many masks that I used in the past had no such indications, or I had to play a watered-down version of hide-and-seek to look for the expiry dates.
2. The mask itself fits my face perfectly.
3. The mask came with the plastic separator - prevents essence from dripping and easily separates the folded mask.

OTHER THAN THAT, BLERGH.

Will I buy it again? NO

Here are the reasons why this mask irked me so freaking much:

1. The smell is overpoweringly chemical. For those who have a tendency to get headaches or migraine attacks from strong smells, I will advise you to steer clear of this mask. I had a migraine 10 minutes after I put it on. =.=
2. It does nothing. Seriously. Usually I could feel my skin feeling smooth and supple. But no, this just felt sticky and gross. The essence doesn't get absorbed AT ALL. I had to use a face towel to get rid of it after 20 freaking minutes of on-off massaging. After I wiped it away, my skin felt like I used cooking oil or something, it was BEYOND OILY. Definitely NOT recommended for those with oily skin.
3. I had breakouts the next day. SERIOUSLY HUH? SERIOUSLY?! =.=

I was a very unhappy user. Nope, will never buy this ever again and will not recommend it to my friends.

Packaging is very pretty, but it does nothing, and perhaps maybe detrimental for those with oily skin.
