random post

I love it when many of us take photos during an event and then all of us upload it on facebook at the same time.

The number of notifications just increase exponentially because those with no cameras will be on a tagging-high.

Seriously, I love facebook.

WOOTS.

Happy birthday my chan! =D

taupe nails juicy brains

It's 2:45 am and I'm still maneuvering through the myriad of videos on Youtube. Somehow or another, I will find something exciting to watch. Somehow or another that exciting stuff is a series, so I have to complete its entirety before I can go off to bed.

The Tyra Banks Show is gone. I just finished watching its last ever episode and I'm kind of sad. No matter how irritating Tyra's voice can get, the show is still an eye-opener. Especially episodes in which she interviewed a porn-star, a teenage prostitute, or episodes in which she went undercover as a 300 pound woman, a homeless person or a woman in a prison. Even episodes on vaginas, breasts and other sensitive topics are brought onto the table.

And now, the show is cancelled at its peak, just after it won another Emmy for Best Talkshow Informative. The reason they give was simply because of Tyra's bigger ambitions. She wants to create a movie and she wants to build up a publishing company for female authors.

Seriously, anyone with deep feelings towards supporting female rights will have some adoration for Tyra Banks. This has nothing to do with feminism though because that term is too loosely defined.

Tyra Banks is someone that I look up to. A woman that works to fulfill her innermost passion. She models for more than a decade, but modeling is not what she's after. With the capital she accumulated from her stellar modeling career, she's able to make a talkshow, a reality show, an upcoming production house, etc etc. This is what I call a smart woman.

Well I can't possibly model can I? The only relatable traits that I have to a model are perhaps my skin condition and my funky hair.

I will work hard in being a communications researcher, and then after I gather all the sweet-smelling moolahs, I will buy a really huge house for my mom to live in. Oh and plus maids because my mom has the tendency to clean the house when she has nothing to do, and if the house is huge, that will be a burden.

My passion is that simple.

My mom has undergone some of the worst situations in life that every woman will dread. And she is still awake everyday watching her favourite korean shows on her laptop, when some women would have fallen under depression.

I don't really know how to tell my mom how much I appreciate her because communication between the 2 of us was really ruined by my younger, rebellious self and the stupid man in the house.

But I'm going to work hard to at least detach her from the horror.

Very childish, but extremely meaningful to me.

To Tyra Banks
To communications research
and to a better future to everyone who deserves one.

back with a big bang

I feel like having dark nails. Been long since I was under emo-goth influence. Even my clothing purchases have been rather gloomy. Blacks, greys and other melancholy colours.

Shall paint my nails after this post.

I went to Lot One on my own just now and the feeling of shopping alone is awesome possum. No one to wait for, no one waiting for me, no one to comment on anything. Just me me and me.

Such shopping can only be done for heartland malls, at least in my case. Shopping alone in town is too boring for me just because the crowd is overwhelming. I just realised how little link my previous sentence has. Well, I just want someone to shop with when I'm in town.

I have been snapping photos of my recent purchases and yes, I went out of control again. =/

Time to paint nails.
woopie doopie dooo.

OH WOW

I have to blog this.

THIS IS SO EXCITING!

I just bought an Urban Decay AMMO Palette off Ebay for 17 fucking bucks. And hell yes, it's brand new!!

It retails for US$36/S$59++ in Sephora and the next cheapest on Ebay was 50 bucks.

I call myself Ebay queen. No one will deny that. hur hur.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!

coding disaster

We intended to stay in the meeting room till not later than 3.30pm.

It's 4.32pm and we are still wrecking our heads.

A lot of things to be mended and a lot of papers to count. I wanted to take a picture of the chaos that we are in but I figure that will be disrespectful to the research student.

Wanna die.

Channel 8 done. Next up is channel U. Good game.

I figure I will end up watching dramas.

Chan Huiling cannot wait to meet with her Alan. HAHAHA. She's super flustered now.
"可以走了吗?" X 2 million times.

WAHAHAHAHA.

She is peeping. BYE.

excellent

Today's plan:
  • Transfer repeated food commercials references on foolscap. All 13-day worthy of them. (done at 11.31am. zomg. backache ttm)
  • Coders meeting at 1.30pm in school.
  • Watsons and Guardian shopping right after.
  • Go home and CLEAN MY MESSY PIG STY.
I love making lists. Gives me the impression that I actually have a lot to do.

To people to aspire to make lists like me, one important tip that you must always do is to start the list with all the things that you already have done for the day. That way it looks like you are uber busy and and you feel good about your life and you are motivated to complete more items in your list.

Awesome.

Shall embark on the first one.

Toodles~

Review: 28 Blush Palette

I was contemplating between the 28 Blush Palette and the new 20 Shade Concealer Palette on Ebay, and I decided to get the blush palette instead because I am a blush freak!

I bought it together with Chan's 88 Warm Palette (it's for her birthday! YAY) and I must say the prices are very very very reasonable.

The 88 Warm Palette was $21.90 and the 28 Blush Palette was $16.90.

The prices were really awesome considering that some blogshops sell both palettes for $32++ and $25++ respectively.

All colours are well-pigmented, but the shimmery colours are more vibrant than the matte ones. For the matte blushes, there is a tendency for them to get really chalky so using a fluffy big brush is recommended; a small tapered blush brush will only concentrate the colour in one area and because some of them are chalky, it's difficult to spread the colours out to the entire cheek area.

Four kinds of finishes: matte, shimmer, satin and glittery

My favourite colours should be:
First row: first blush
Second row: fourth blush
Third row: sixth blush
Fourth row: first blush

Some of the colours look extremely intimidating, especially the hot fluorescent pink and the maroon red. However, a little goes a long way and if you don't over-apply, the colours can still be wearable. In my case, I just dab my brush on these colours once and then dab on several of the cheek areas, and then blend blend blend. For the more vibrant colours, one dab is usually enough for one cheek, whereas for the lighter colours you can reapply to the vibrancy that you want! =)

One last comment: the glittery blushes are really freaking me out. It's like applying a blusher and then adding glitter bits to your cheeks. The glitter particles are really huge and chunky and I really don't want to look like a walking lightbulb. =/ I shall stay away from those colours. GAH.

Coding has been going on well. I am done with Aileen's first 13 DVDs and I should move on to the next 15 DVDs. There's a slight problem though, I have to finish everything by 2nd June 2010, 1pm. HOW TO FINISH! I WILL CHIONG CHIONG CHIONG!

Also, after almost a month hiatus from jogging and running (I stopped before Genting trip. aiyoyo), I finally went jogging yesterday. I met a potential flasher at a very secluded bus stop outside Bukit Batok Nature Reserve and I ran like crazy till I see a traffic light (meaning got a lot of cars, so if I get dragged down, I can struggle and run towards a car. LOL). 50 minutes of jogging later, I came back aching.

In very bad shape. I woke up this morning to an aching body. LIKE EVERYWHERE ACHING LOR. zomg. I shall go for a walk later. Same route, but walking. Perhaps brisk walking. We shall see.

I'm waiting for my mom to come back with my lunch. WHERE IS SHE!
