Stockholm - windier by day

Time for another humongous update on my "exciting" life in Stockholm. School has been nothing less than normal; readings and readings, nothing exciting.

My room's getting messier and messier though, and the toilet is foul; I really should clean it when I feel hardworking and domestic.

This past week has been quite awesome! :)

We went to watch a ice hockey match last Thursday. Home team lost, boo, but the atmosphere was major awesome.

The spectators were cheering NON-STOP, and it's not even an exaggeration. They really cheered continuously, and they sweared non-stop also. Very very awesome experience.

And then we had the opportunity of a lifetime to visit a Swedish country house. The house belonged to Charlie's mom. In case you guys are wondering, Charlie is the model for the current issue of ConnexSCIons together with the roomie, Jo Quek! He went for an exchange with NTU last semester!

So we were rather stoked to be going to a country house, BUT WE DID NOT EXPECT SUCH BREATHTAKING SCENERIES AND SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HOME!

This entire ice is the frozen Baltic Sea. It's crazy. We walked on it, jumped on it, and nothing happened. WE REALLY WALKED ON ICE. That was really THE experience.

And a silly shot of myself.

And a rather chio shot of myself. HAHAHAHA.

The sun began to set. I see this outside of my window occasionally when there is little cloud.

The girls were just lazying around while the guys cook. HAHA. Such sloths.

And chef Wang cooked lunch and breakfast for us! :) Fatty 2-day-1-night.

He really crazy one. LOOK WHAT HE'S WEARING!

Look at our snowman. HAHAHAHA. Look like blobfish. ew.

And we left our polaroids in the country home as gifts to Charlie's mom! :)

Chinese New Year approached and I was feeling really down because I had no ang paos to get and no good food to eat, and then WKWSCI surprised me! They sent me a CNY goodie pack and it was realllllllllllly nice of them! :) Apparently all the exchange students will receive it, and almost 100++ of our students are on exchange; now we know where the money goes heh?

BUT STILL, THANK YOU WKWSCI, MUACKS MUACKS.

I miss Dr D now, all of a sudden... and Marko and Mark...

MY NEW BOOTS. Just some random addition to this post since I'm obsessed with it.

YUM YUM YUM

OUR CHINESE NEW YEAR FEAST!! :) THANK YOU WILSON WANG ONCE AGAIN FOR AN AWESOME PARTY!

We had a lot to eat. Char Siew, Nasi Lemak, Chicken rice, Yakisoba, Yusheng, Mango Pudding etc etc.

Today, Emery and I had no lessons (ok she had 1 in the morning), so we went around Stockholm, just for some sightseeing. Here are some chio photos of the beautiful country!

Ok fail, this one I really must post. Jeffrey Campbell shoes for 50% off. I was damn tempted to buy but aiyah, these kinds of expensive shoes I shall buy when I work next time lar, now just budget budget.

Chio photos continue...

I realised I didn't post my hauls the last time. I was too lazy to take them out and organise them for photos, so I just took shots of the design lar. I bought lots of shirts and a pair of shorts too, but too lazy to take photos because they were mostly black and browns.

I bought this cute heart-print skirt from H&M for 10 sing dollars. YUMMY PRICE.

CHEAP MONDAY JEANS. This one was exactly 12 bucks. SIAO ONE. SINGAPORE SELLS FOR CLOSE TOO 200 BUCKS YOU KNOW. Damn awesome.

H&M bag for 10 bucks, Carlings beanie for 6 bucks.

Another Cheap Monday jeans. This one I really really like. It was 16 bucks. HALO STILL VERY VERY CHEAP. I now own 2 pairs of Cheap Mondays. I feel very happy. WEE.

And today's sightseeing was UTTER FAIL because I bought things from H&M AGAIN. LOL.

Got this from the men's department. Oversized studded denim shirt. CHIO CHIO CHIO. It was 40 bucks.

Elin Kling X H&M came out today and her collection was not my favourite collection in the world. It was just...too neutral for me. But I saw some of the pieces that she listed as her favourites in the store and this blazer was one of them! This is uber pretty and uber me. For 40 bucks!! The material is thin as well! So I can wear it in Singapore! HOORAH!

Lastly, got myself some makeup wipes since I ran out and also some Eucerin cream for the face for ultimate hydration in this wretched weather. Eucerin is cheap in Sweden!

And I shall continue with my adventures in Sweden. May start posting postcards too! WEE! :)

Take care you guys!

2nd week in Stockholm!

It's my second week in Stockholm ALREADY. Time passes very quickly, especially when you only see sun 6 hours a day. Life has been good so far, with me cooking more and more and spending less and less, which is always awesome.

Classes in KTH have been rather enlightening because you get so many different nationalities in one class, and so you get different, sometimes alarming, perspectives about a certain topic. But seriously, learning about communications from scratch again is making me want to skip all the lectures. BOO.

By the way, a rather weird digression, I just saw my Physics relief teacher here in Stockholm. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I think it was in year 2 of JC and Seira and I used to just stare at him and not do the tutorial. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Damn awesome. He went down at the same stop as me, STALKING TIME.

We had a Singaporean dinner just last week, and it was awesome! :)

Really nice Nutella Bread Pudding that Emery made. Pity we were too full to enjoy it to the fullest.

Oolong Bubble Tea! YUMMEH!
We made too much pearls, so we used them as penalties for our after-dinner games. Put them in shot glasses, and take them all in one shot. I got one shot, and it was horrible. My goodness.

DIY Char Siew. Wilson Wang is a genius. It tastes exactly like Char Siew. O_O

AND WE HAD LAKSA TOO! WOOHOO!

That's Seda, my corridor mate. She's from Turkey and she was extremely happy that day because her boyfriend came down to see her!

And meet Winnie from Hongkong!

Emery and I went shopping last week and we finally tried the hot dog. It was freak huge. AND FREAK YUMMY.

I have no idea where this is, but it was really a sight. The whole river just became ice. The funny thing is another river which is nearby is just flowing normally!

This is how all underground train stations look like. Well not the same interiors, but every train has a theme attached to it! SO COOL! :)

Charlie! He was a model for Connexscions back when he was on exchange with NTU. Wang knows him before and so automatically we all knew him also. HAHA. He brought us to a Thai restaurant and it was really good!

and the Student Union brought us all exchange students to an ice-skating trip. Everyone was enjoying themselves except for sad me. :(

MY SKATING SHOES SIZES WERE ALL OUT. 38 39 40 ALL OUT. so suay. :(( So i guarded their bags. HAHA.

It was fun watching Cedrick fall though. HEE.

SORRY SORRY

I'm really sorry about the lack of blogging. The Swedish life has slowly been adopted by my body, meaning I'm fucking lazy now, even to eat (because sibei expensive).

But I guess photos will be up on facebook, and perhaps I will transfer some of the photos into this blog, maybe like tomorrow?

I have a really huge reading to do for Intercultural Communication, and I predict myself wanting to get distracted. So I shall make a point to blog about my hauls tomorrow! Not putting up haul photos on facebook because THE MOTHER is looking at every single photo and she is sending me a text everyday to NOT SPEND SO MUCH. Actually yesterday I bought 4 tops, 2 bottoms and a beanie for 120 bucks. THAT IS FUCK AWESOME. I'm such a bargain shopper. ZARA SHORTS FOR 26 BUCKS! :))

The January sales here are crazy. Wang, Em, Ced and I are going back on 30th January because apparently that's one of the last few days and they cut prices like 90% off. HOW SIAO IS THAT. MAJOR SIAO.

Okay, need to upload photos first.
YAY.

Do talk to me on the tagboard though, I feel quite sad looking at the spammers on my tagboard. :((

hmm

I may just end up curling on my bed everyday to avoid the cold.

It's REALLY cold.

Thanks huiling for the puke bag! VERY AWESOME!

We had to endure 12 hours of flight WITHOUT inflight entertainment. NABEI. I didn't even fall asleep. :(

Finally in Stockholm. Lulea and Stockholm people had to separate, so we had to take photos!

What I see everyday outside of my window.

Finally at IKEA. WOOTS.

The awesome meatballs!

And I cleaned and scrubbed my dorm. Here's how they look like now!

View outside of my window at 810am.

welcoming 2011

2011 Resolutions:

  1. To enjoy myself thoroughly in Sweden and Europe without getting mugged or such horrible incidents.
  2. Nothing on weight loss because I never fulfill them. However, I would like to cut away soft drinks from my diet, and less carbohydrates!
  3. Exercise every single day! Be it dancing around or whatevs, just MOVE THAT BUTT.
  4. Make sure that I will not fall into emonemo states more than 3 times in a year. It's really bad for the migraines and usually my eyes swell up. very ugly.
  5. WATCH PIRATES 4, HARRY POTTER 7 PART 2 AND BLACK SWAN IN THE THEATRES.
  6. In 2010, I read very few books, perhaps 5 books or fewer. This is such a shame because I used to devour 8 books a week when I was younger. BWARGH. MUST GET BACK ON TRACK. In 2011, I will read more than 20 books. Yes I will. (and no recycling harry potter series or princess diaries series)
  7. GPA-wise. No qualms about it at all. But just don't drop, and I will be a very happy girl.
  8. Stop eating so much good food! THOSE MOOLAHS CAN BE USED FOR SHOPPING.
  9. I will take a photo every single day using the iPhone and post it on Facebook for evidence-sake.
  10. LAST ONE: STOP WATCHING SO MANY VIDEOS AND NUA-ING AROUND!
