Review: Maybelline Jelly Glow Blush

The Maybelline Jelly Glow Blush has been out on the market for quite some time and I have always wanted to try it out, but the price you pay for such a small product was the main factor why I have been resisting it. It was a Eureka moment when I found it on Ebay for a mere S$5! No further thinking needed, just click "Buy It Now"!

Thank God I only paid S$5 for it because the Maybelline Jelly Glow Blush was a complete disaster for me. Or at least for people with oily skin like me.

Let's expound the hatred further, shall we? I don't necessarily hate this product ENTIRELY, but a few huge flaws just make me not want to use it anymore. It has now been thrown into my small drawer, and for sure it's going to collect dust.

I bought the Maybelline Jelly Glow Blush in 05 Pure Orange

Packaging: Honestly, I really like the packaging. It's really cute! Tiny and very portable!

Texture: This blush has a really pleasant texture. It's a cross between a mousse consistency and a cream consistency. It's one of those that applies as a cream, and then gradually turns into powder form after you wipe it gently. And I get the "jelly" part, it's not as "boing boing" as jelly, but somewhat near that concept.

Colour: Although the blush is named Pure Orange, the real colour is more of a reddish coral. It's a beautiful colour but haha Pure Orange is way too far-fetched as a name.

Pigmentation: Way below average. The above swatch was painstakingly done after like 5 applications. I'm someone who heavily applies blush (because I look like a ghost without it) and this kind of pigmentation just will not do. Nothing irks me more than a blush that doesn't deliver.

Application: Major fail. Because the pigmentation was so disappointing, I had to build up the colour through applications after applications. I spent like 5 minutes on blush alone when I'm using the Maybelline Jelly Glow Blush. Usually I take no more than 10 seconds. =___=

Longevity: For people with oily skin, you may want to avoid this blush altogether. After a mere two hours, my cheeks look like they just got dipped into oil. I have a very oily T-Zone, but my cheeks are usually dry. With this blush on, I'm alarmed at how oily my cheeks can be. In complete disgust and I'm never going to use this product ever again.

Will I buy it again? Definitely no. Even if you give it to me for free, I will avoid using it. Why do you want to use a blush that makes your cheeks OILY?! Your cheeks should be glowing, but not OILY.
