They retail for S$2 per piece and when I bought it at Bukit Panjang Plaza's Watsons, there were only a few packs left. Should be quite popular with the masses, SO HURRY AND GET YOURS BECAUSE THEY ARE GREAT.
There are 2 packs sold at Watsons, the Summer Mask Pack and the Autumn Repair Pack.
I didn't get the Summer Mask Pack because it's more for soothing tired skin, moisturising dry skin and calming sensitive skin.
I need one that tackles the different areas of my oily skin so I chose the Autumn Repair Pack, which had a very interesting Snail extract in both the mask and the cream.
This is the product description from the website itself:
My Beauty Diary Snail Mask is a 2 Step Autumn Repair Pack with Snail repair Cream made of snail extract & Broccoli extract. Snail extract is the most popular extract used in Korea skincare products now. Suitable for all skin types, especially for dry and sensitive skin, helps to firm, nourish and regenerates skin.
I was intrigued by how it claims to "firm, nourish and regenerate skin".
I have combination skin, in which my t-zone (forehead and nose area, forming a T) is very oily, while the other parts are dry/normal.
Combination skin is rather tricky when it comes to skin products (of course not as tricky as sensitive skin) because some products can be beneficial to your oily areas, but harm other areas, and vice versa.
Product benefits: Firming, Nourishing and Regenerating
Suitable skin: All skin types; best for dry and sensitive skin
I actually prefer to leave my mask on a little longer because I use them in an air-conditioned room. So perhaps, 45-50 minutes?
But hey, please don't leave your mask on overnight, unless it's stated that it's a sleeping mask. When you leave your mask for too long till the sheet dries up, you are actually harming your skin! The dried-up mask may pull your skin and this can cause premature wrinkles. NOT GOOD AR.
My Beauty Diary masks always come with a plastic sheet below the mask itself. Though troublesome (you have to remove the plastic sheet, etc), it's aiding the dripping disaster. Sometimes when masks don't come with the plastic sheet, once you take it out, you get the essence dripping EVERWHERE.
Another thing that I like about My Beauty Diary masks is how thin the masks are. Precisely because they are so thin, they stick to your face better!
After around 45 minutes, I removed the mask and the applied the Snail Repair Cream, which had a consistency of usual moisturisers, as seen below:
The cream scared me at first. It applied VERY HEAVILY, and I was afraid that all that goo would not be absorbed by my skin, leaving it oily and shiny and very unattractive.
However, after a good 20 seconds of massaging, the product was absorbed like a miracle. It couldn't register in my head that such a thick product can leave my skin feeling....dry. (!!!) Hence, I declare this cream an OHMYGODMIRACLE cream.
Did the product work?
Very fortunately, yes. For S$2, this is one fantastic mask (or pack). I had 3 very red pimples before I used it and they all very strategically popped up below my lips, forming a very nice triangle. The next morning, I was rather shocked that one of the pimples was almost gone, and the redness was greatly reduced.
Another miracle that I encountered was how less oily my nose was. Usually in the morning, I would wake up to a nose dripping with oil (JOKING, THIS IS NOT REAL), but the morning after I applied the combination, it was just a tad shiny!
WOAH WOAH WOAH.
I'm going to get the 8-set one FOR SURE.
:D
