I completely forgot to include the photos of the wands. How clever. Just scroll down to the third post and the wands of all the mascaras will be there. =X
All mascaras were applied without curling the lashes beforehand, and I applied 3 coats of mascara for all reviews!
BEAUTE de KOSE Mascara Fantasist
This is the mascara that I had least confidence in because of the dubious tiny wand. However, the tiny wand proved to be extremely helpful in reaching to super tiny lashes in the inner eye area. Also, lower lashes application is much easier with the tiny wand because I won't have to be extra careful in fear of smudging the lower eye area.
It gets clumpy on the third application though, so I guess two coats is enough. However, in my case I will just use a lash comb to separate out my lashes. Troublesome, but the volume is awesome!
The smell is pleasant too. I don't know why but I have a thing about smelling mascaras. Rather weird habit of mine. HAHA.
As you can see from the photo, this mascara gives me curl without even the use of a curler. Amazed is the word. However, after the third application, there is some flaking going on and that should be because the mascara's formulation dries up quickly and I applied the third coat too slowly.
Therefore, apply this mascara quickly if you don't want any mess under the eye.
Smell-wise, it's alright. It smells like all CLINIQUE products; that medicine smell is always lingering.
Such a disappointment. That's the first thought that came to my mind after the application. I heard so many raves about this product, about how it will hold curls, about how it really gives volume.
It does give volume but I guess on Asian lashes, this mascara just accentuates the straightness of the lashes. Caucasian lashes are naturally more curly, and I presume that's why they are so fascinated by this product.
Talking about volume, after the second application, the next application was a nightmare because of how clumpy my lashes became. The photo below shows the state of my lashes after being combed out.
I was so displeased that I forgot about the smell. HAHA.
This in my honest honest HONEST opinion, is the best mascara of the bunch. The wand is pretty thin and elongated, and the shape is very streamlined. Hence, the fatter part of the wand will coat my middle, longer lashes fully and the thinner parts will coat the inner lashes beautifully. GORGEOUS mascara!
The photo below shows the after result after 3 applications and without the usage of a curler or a lash comb. I am very very impressed and I am kind of disappointed that what I have is just the sample sized version. Maybe when I save enough money, I will drop by Sephora and get the full-sized one! =)
Awesome awesome product, and the smell is as stated above, very medicine-y. HAHA.
I am rather doubtful about the claim of "zero-smudge", but I guess I will have to give this mascara more chances.
Very clumpy mascara, not impressed at all. Also, why does Estee lauder mascaras smell so aweful?
Not another word, I'm rather put off by the smell alone.
I always wonder why are the words "Bold Volume" in trademark? Estee Lauder came up with it? Hmmm.
Though the smell is still as aweful as ever, I must say that this mascara does a good job in curling and volumising. And yes, my lashes look much longer.
So I guess the quality balanced out the smell huh?
What is with Estee Lauder and super long mascara names?
Volume-wise, It's good but not fantastic. I see my lashes being thicker but sometimes they get clumpy and I have to comb them out. Oh, and another thing is that, the formulation of this mascara is a bit irritating for combing out lashes. It dries really hard, and so when I comb the lashes out, I have to pull my lashes, which is NEVER a good thing!
No lengthening whatsoever.
Did I mention the horrible smell?
As can be seen from the photo, there is minimal curling.
Just a nice everyday mascara when you don't want your makeup to be too much. Not my style to be in light makeup though. =/
That was a really long post. HAHA.
Next up, will be my new makeup storage! I changed it up a little bit and not most of the stuff have their own spaces.
I'm so not studying my COM204. HAHA.
